Thanks for the amazing review. I would love reading a book that offers something to discuss and debate on. This one appears to be one of them. The first chapter seems to be slow paced but the author manages to describe events vividly. I would like to complete reading this soonest.

You did a great job of explaining this complicated story, and I am impressed at how much information you were able to condense into this review!
I read the first two chapters, and although my brain hurt from all the information, I was impressed at how well the author described the scene with burning rocks falling. I could also envision Tabira, with the tall buildings and the tube that runs over the city.

Well-written review!

One of the reasons I like to read sci-fi is for the break in reality, to get away from the world I'm in. While the world created in this book seems cool, its struggles are too similar to our own for me to give this one a read. It does seem like the author did a lot of research for their novel though, so kudos to her for that. Great review!

Hmmm this sounds like the start of a wonderful sci-fi series. I love it when we get to read an author like this, one that has about seven different alien countries and cultures swimming in their head. Your review has definitely turned me onto this book, it’s going on my to read list.

I am glad that you enjoyed the book, however it doesn't seem to be something that I would read. Thanks for the review.

For a while now I've been in a serious reading slump, but I think this book might just get me out of it. It definitely sounds up my alley, the dystopian setting, the political struggle for power, etc. I'm definitely gonna have to read this novel.

"Apex Five" by Sarah Katz seems interesting with the science fiction flavoured with political themes. I think I will enjoy reading this book.

Thanks for the review, but I'm pretty tired of post-apocalyptic tales, and this story where "politics and culture figure heavily" will not be the exception, even if there is emphasis on character development, as well.

This sounds like a great book for science fiction fans. I like the political themes to add another dimension to the book. This was an interesting and informative review

I liked very much the connection you made to past events and history and the fact that you looked beyond the action in the plot towards important social issues. It even made me want to read this book and I usually dismiss sci-fi. An insightful and amazing review, thanks!

this kind of analogies in sci-fi is what makes what it is. This novel gives an interesting look at what the world would be like without religion and politics (they should connect us, not tearing us appart) as a way of saying that humans must be united to solve the struggles and discuss them.

What a great review! This book sounds like it's right up my alley. Plenty of drama, based in a well defined world and the inclusion of a history makes this a must read for me.

I agree with the prescence of info-dumping as I can see it in other novels. I'm looking forward to reading this.

This looks like an interesting read! Disappointed to hear about the editing issues but I don't think that would make me put down the book.
