When one reads about the Holocaust you know what the book will include. That's why I was intrigued about the title and the 'miracle' in the midst of these events. The book did not disappoint. It was very uplifting! Thanks for commenting. I appreciate your thoughtful words.Vscholz wrote: ↑14 Apr 2019, 14:31 The Holocaust (and basically most of the first half of the twentieth century) is filled with tragedy. I tend to avoid such information (my soul is quite sensitive), but I know how important it is to discuss these events. I'm glad this one is uplifting. Thanks for the review!

It is an emotional book not only because of the atrocities. The recounting of what happened to the main character will impact you. I hope you will enjoy Johann's story. Thanks for commenting.daviddawud wrote: ↑14 Apr 2019, 16:58 This might probably be an emotional book for some people due to the level of atrocities committed. Your review has piqued my interest in this novel. Great review.

I agree. It was difficult for Johann to tell his story, and he didn't for many years. When he was finally ready, his granddaughter documented what had happened to him. It is an amazing story. Hope you will have an opportunity to read it. Thanks for commenting.
