From the first sentence this review had me hooked on Altered Reality. I love the Avengers and recently started watching the movies over again so references to The Hulk really resonated with me. Despite the implications of gore, I'm definitely adding this to my "Want to Read Shelf" after checking out your review.

The review is very enthusiastic and the book seems to be really interesting. It does resemble Avengers, X-men, Justice League and the likes and it is exciting. It is full of action and contains some kind of a quest of James who has to find Samuel and help him harness his powers otherwise he will become the world's greatest evil. Though I'm not a fan of gory descriptions which are enough in the book the plot is still tempting. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I like your review, it is very helpful! I've read the sample pages, and I agree with what you mentioned in your review. The novel certainly represents the crime, mystery, thriller and horror genres. I'll probably finish reading the book at another time.

I usually do not like to read sequels without reading the book before but this book sounds amazing! I love crime thrillers and the plot sounds exciting in this one. That, paired with the stellar reviews, make me want to jump into reading this!

Great review as a fan of comic book movies I can definitely see myself reading this book. I also love books that reward readers for paying close attention while reading and this book definitely seems like one of those!

Altered Reality by joel knox: a story in the style of superheroes in which the characters have supernatural abilities. The main character James Hyde a.k.a The Alter, must fulfill a mission that takes him to face rivals who try to avoid his goal. The main topics are greed, exploitation and sacrifice, it is full of unexpected twists, it is a recommended book for those who love Avengers, X-men, Justice League and the like.

Action with a mix of mystery, sounds perfect! As someone who enjoyed the American Psycho novel so I can get over the gory details

Sounds like this is more horror and mystery than it is sci-fi. Neither are genres I'm particularly into. The characters are interesting. I also got the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde feel, probably from James's surname. Samuel sounds like he got a bad break all around and I think I blame the way he's turned out entirely on the coldheartedness of his Father. It wouldn't break my heart at all if Samuel went after him. Still, given the content and the gore, I'll most likely give this one a pass. Thanks for the in-depth review.

You had me at "personal rakshasa." I am actually not a fan of movies based on comic book heroes like the Avengers, as they are usually low on plot, but this review has me intrigued. I love a good tormented and flawed character, and this book sounds like it has just that.

I would definitely read this! I am interested in the rest of the series, although i do appreciate that the author wrote it in such a way that it can also be read as a stand alone novel.

This sounds like a very ‘busy’ book with lots going on! I am pleased you enjoyed it as much as you did, although I think it might be a bit heavy-going for me. Well done for the excellent review.

This sounds like an intriguing book. I'm a fan of crime, thriller and action novels. However, I don't think I will read this book due to the gory details mentioned. Thank you for the splendid and well detailed review.
