C/T/M/H is a genre which I rarely pass on, so this one will be definitely a future read of mine. Though I have mixed feelings about the book, I assume that it will be interesting. Congratulations on being BOTD

From a sampling, this seems like a interesting crime/mystery novel about a criminal defense attorney working on a serial killer case. It is worth a closer look. Well done.

Sounds like a good crime thriller. Glad to see that the author was able to have the two stories written smoothly and with a natural flow. Might be up my alley but the lack of suspense will still be considered. Thanks for this review! :tiphat:

This book sounds interesting. It feels like a buy-1-take-1 promo in the market, like 2 books or stories in 1. I am intrigued by X's identity and how he will affect Sam.

I love a good mystery, but it sounds like the suspense is lacking — and that would be a big red flag for me. Thank you for the thoughtful review!

This book has all the elements I enjoy in a mystery: an unusual crime to solve, legal issues, some odd characters, the reference to the Zapruder film to grab my attention, and a sympathetic lawyer. I enjoy books set in the Washington, DC area so I am curious about the references to Rosslyn, Virginia. I once
passed through there daily between home and work. I enjoyed the writer’s style and will look forward to finding out what happened in Cuba as well as the meaning of the title.

What a delightful review. It is so impressive that there are two books within one. Kudos to the author for successfully pulling that off! Thanks again for the review.

This book seems intriguing. Different writing skills in one book? Strange, I never read a book like that before well except when a book is co-authored. However, I'm drawn to the plot and will check this out.

Almost Mortal sounds like a captivating crime mystery novel. Sad to know, this novel is not suspenseful and includes a not so appealing end. The book reviewer said that the plot is well organized and edited and hence, easy to read. Thanks for the review.

I definitely like a well-developed plot, and since this story offers two, that sounds doubly fun. I also enjoy twists and unpredictable endings as long as they're a compliment to the storyline. With a serial killer out there and limited clues, Sam has his work cut out for him. Great review.

This sounds like an interesting read, but based on your review stating there's a lack of suspense and a strange ending, I'm a bit hesitant to check it out. Thanks for mentioning that.

Sam, a young defense attorney's story was outshone by Mr. X's. From reading the review, I can see that the story plays out that way. Usually, in any account, the criminal is always the one that causes the most problems. The defense attorney is the one that has to seek the truth. This review sheds insight on what to expect from reading the stories and which one will be the clincher of readers of the book. I read the sample as well, and I like the Sam character. He seems to be a caring person helping wherever he is needed as long it is within the line of the law. The book sounds like it will be a great read with suspense lurking in the background.
