A crime thriller filled with adventure and mystery surrounding the tale of the infamous serial killer known as the Ripper sounds fantastic.

I understand your points about the lack of suspense and the ending. I am glad that you enjoyed reading the book overall though. Congrats to the author on the 3/4 rating.

Glad to hear that the book is well organized and includes some adventure and mystery. Sad that there's not much suspense. Great review.

I like reading interconnected stories. Disappointed to hear about the lack of suspense and weak ending, but I would probably read it just out of curiosity. I love well rounded characters and it sounds like the main character is one.

The plot of "Almost Mortal," seems to have two parallel stories, and it will be interesting to know the way the author concludes and relates the two stories.

I am not into crime dramas. I would consider this book and give it a try. The way the book was described makes it sound like a good read.

This sounds like a very interesting legal thriller. It's a shame that the two story lines aren't as balanced, but I find that when there are two threads running in tandem like that, one always outshines the other. At the very least I am glad that the narrative is well organized and easy to follow along. I would have liked more suspense, but this still looks like one to check out!

I don't read mystery very often but this sounds hard to pass up. The difference in writing styes between the two storys sounds intriguing. Nice review.

It is interesting how the author incorporated two different stories that relate to one another. This story sounds intriguing, especially character X. Thanks for the review!

That was a well-written review, prospero360. Stories that move in between characters can be extra challenging and entertaining to follow. Like I said on Facebook, I don't know whose side to be on, the supposed criminal, Jon Scarfrowe, or the prosecution. It's easy to form an opinion before getting into the story, or getting more evidence, as would be needed in a trial.

Almost Mortal by Christopher Leibig sounds like it should be on the big screen; this futuristic story seems to lead it's reader down the path of an emotional rollercoaster. The extreme poiniant storyline will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Thanks for the review. It's disappointing to hear that it doesn't have a good ending, but from the little I've read it seems to be very well written. It still might be worth a read.

I think the most interesting thing about the book Almost Mortal is that it is written in two different styles - with one of them in journaling style. Though I am really into crime or mystery books, I think I’ll give it a try :wink2: Thank you for the good review!
