I appreciate the in-depth review. I grabbed this because I am new and this was the first freebie. Then I realized there are reviews to help me choose... I am very interested in this genre and though not particularly interested in going prospecting, love reading about others experiences. I will have to decide on Greta for myself but from your review, I think I will enjoy this book. Thanks.

Greta was a determined female. She had been married twice before and was sticking by her man Alex inspite of her father's demand. If Alex couldn't raise the $20,000, Greta owned the property too because she was part of the Sadler's Corporation. Although Greta had a right to change her mind- the title should have foused on Alex quest.

It sounds to me as if Greta and the professor’s hunt for buried treasure is taking place both in mining and in their lives. I’m curious to read on to see if the same qualifications about Greta’s character hold true for me.

Adventure, suspense, romance, with the basis of the story drawn from historical roots is notably captivating. It seems like the book is written with engaging and relatable characters, along with a thrilling plot. I'm hooked. Thanks for the great review!

I love romance, not quite up for the history lesson. Will have to give it some more thought.

The story here of Neveda's history and a treasure hunt seems interesting. Too bad all of characters didn't get equal treatment. Glad you enjoyed reading it!

I usually love this romance with historical elements genre, but I just can't read this one. I can't find it in myself to read a novel that has such glaring errors as this one does. I read the Prologue and the first chapter and noticed the mix-up with the great-great-grandfather and the 9th governor episode. That alone turned me off, though I also noticed a few misspellings in just those few pages. Those wouldn't ordinarily bother me but combined with the uneven flow it makes this book a miss for me.

Your review is very good, even though I don't agree with your rating, the review itself is well-done. Thank you so much!

Not my thing but a great review. The whole gold mining topic may be interesting enough and throw in the romantic adventure and it may be compelling. You've definitely brought it to life with your writing style. Nice job.

Mining doesn't exactly interest me, but a story which has a good character development is my kind of read. Looking forward to sample it. Thank you for your review!

This is interesting. There's obviously a lot of things that add to the characters' dilemma. I just hope it doesn't get confusing. I wonder how their situation affects the relationship between Greta and Alex.

"A Woman's Prerogative" is historical fiction by Steven Brandt about a young woman who comes home after 10 years and along with a man named Alex, decides to pursue chasing a fabled gold mine long lost over 100 years ago. There are not the only ones after the gold mine and what happens next forms the crux of the story. Very thrilling novel. Congratulations on BOTD !!

The book sounds very interesting. The summary you've written is intriguing; I already feel like reading the whole book! However, I do think you gave a bit too much information away. Thank you for the great review anyway!

Cecilia, what a great review! I am more inclined toward murder mysteries instead of romantic adventures but the review actually had me interested in reading this book. I was disappointed by the under-characterization of the female lead. I am intrigued about the historical aspects of the book. Thanks for the review.

Thank Cecelia for this review, I don't see Greta as a sucker but as a woman ready to stand for her family no matter the circumstances.
