Such a lovely story! I immediately felt that I knew the family and wanted to continue reading. So many life lessons can be learned from this book. This would be a wonderful chapter book for a teacher to read aloud to her class after lunch or for bedtime stories at home. The two generations of disappointing father-son relationships with the son hoping for some attention from his dad is sure to prompt questions and discussion. This book could have more long term impact than daily lessons. I plan to buy the book for my family - and I’m still curious about the inhabitants of the mine and how the friendly little bug in the cornfield might be connected to them. I enjoyed the review which convinced me to buy the book. Congratulations to the author and thanks to the reviewer.

I still enjoy the children fables once in awhile and this book just one that can captivate the little minds. The valuable lessons that we relate to our children in this age makes it a book to recommend.
