The book I reviewed is (i)Final Notice (/i) by Van Fleisher. I rated this book (b) 4 out of 4 stars (/b). The title of this book intrigued me and when I started to read it I had no idea what direction the author would go in, so I was surprised by some developments and shocked by others.

Final Notice deals with multiple themes that are relevant to the U.S. in 2019 including the NRA, the rights of senior citizens, immigration, gun violence and the political differences between liberals, conservatives and progressives. The book also explores several taboo topics such as race in America, age discrimination and suicide.

Mr. Fleisher looks at law enforcement and the way that citizens can be involved in making changes that affect their lives. As the title Final Notice suggests, if we were given an alert of when our life would end, what should we reflect on and what things would we do to get our affairs in order. The idea that technology could allow us to know how many days we had left raises ethical questions for physicians and issues of privacy.

The author did an excellent job of describing the main characters in the book to the point that I could relate to several of them and felt that I shared some of their concerns and possible reactions.

(i) Final Notice (/I) was professionally edited and very easy to read. Anyone who is interested in politics, 2nd Amendment rights and gun violence would enjoy this book. Parents of school age children and senior citizens will be drawn into this story and maybe even persuaded to become involved in a political issue or movement.

There was nothing I disliked about (i) Final Notice (/i) and I was disappointed when I turned the last page. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a political thriller that seems to come from current news stories.
