Rachel Lea wrote: 11 May 2019, 16:07 Great review! I especially liked where you quoted Persaud's "Worry" poem, "Worry doesn't fill up anything especially in your mind," and also when he says, "It is adversity that makes us appreciate what we have or what we had.” Both statements are quite profound. Thank you!

ElizaBeth Adams wrote: 11 May 2019, 19:25 The poems sure do cover a variety of topics. It is neat that the author's final punch in his poems repeatedly took your breath away. Pulling a strong emotion out of a reader is a good sign of effective writing, especially in poetry. This one isn't for me at this time. I am glad you enjoyed it and that it is well done. Thanks for an excellent review.
It was refreshing to be able to read a book of good poetry, and that does have to do with emotion, doesn't it? Thanks for stopping by!

I enjoyed your review of O Persaud. I wonder why he dropped the rest of his name (Omar).
LOL! French! :D :D :D Thanks for stopping by!!!

Bluebird03 wrote: 12 May 2019, 08:42 The term "sh**tolian" is also a new one to me. All of the poems that you mentioned sound interesting, especially the section on insects and animals and how their traits compare to ours. How creative! Your insight into the lower case letters is also intriguing. Thank you for a most insightful and engaging review!

I love the title of this book. Thanks for the review. I appreciate all poetry. even the blunt ones.

Thank you for your review! I'm glad that the author was able to be direct and coarse with a point behind it. Sometimes shock value and profanity are necessary. I do not read poem collections often so I will have to pick this up.
