I like that her free-verse poetry still flows easily and that the poems were well edited. Thank you for your review.

A Loaf of Bread by Rana Bitar is a collection of heart-felt poetry. The themes explored in this collection are deep and thought provoking and so I will love to read it. Great review.

The poetry in this collection focuses on the author’s home and the distress her people experienced during the country’s civil war.
.
A well-written, moving collection of ten free-verse poems sounds a perfect read for fans of poetry! The poems are thought-provoking and well edited. Unfortunately, I do not read the genre, so I will pass. Thank you for the detailed review!

The book on its own is a collection of poetry. Poetry which is shared by an individual who has seen the toughest of times, the poet's selection of words paints some of the sorrowful sceneries she went through during the war... The book, it's a fascinating read, it has my vote.

I am a fan of poetry but I don't think this kind is for me. It seems too depressing for my liking. However, I commend the author for being strong despite the chaos around her.

Thanks for the review, but I'm just not into poetry, and this tome with themes of "death, destruction, sorrow and loss" definitely will not be the exception.

The author's experiences are more than a person should endure. Unfortunately, they aren't unique, not with civil wars found all over the world on any given day. What is unique is the way the author has shared those experiences with her poetry. What an amazing gift she has. The review sums up the collection in such a way that it is thorough, but also encourages us to read the poetry for ourselves.

I loved the sample! Bitar has a profound gift for painting images and conveying emotions while using only a few words. Her poetry has its own unique sound to it and I found it quite moving. Thanks for your review!

I look forward to reading this book of poems. Thanks for the review, it is explanatory and helpful. It tells me that the poems are complicated but readable and have deeper meanings, so I shall set aside some time to really enjoy them.
