Ooh. I don't usually get into pirate books because my usual fantasy is knights and sorcerers, but this sounds like absolute fun. I'm curious as to how The Black Ghost clashes with Garrett, if he does indeed clash with him.

A coming-of-age adventure? I'm up for it! While I am not the target audience, I can still learn a lesson or two from Garrett's unwavering spirit. Thank you for your review!

I only occasionally dable in the fantasy genre, but sounds like a must-read. Garrett sounds like a lovable, grounded character and the villain is deliciously colorful. Thanks for a wonderful review.

This sounds like an interesting read for pre-teens and above. The character description of 'The Black Ghost' sounds disgusting haha. I'm sure many kids would love to read a story of how a boy with a disability can overcome the physical limitations, using his knowledge from reading. Great review!

Thanks for the insightful review! I don't really care for fantasy books. I do read them sometimes, but only on a rare occasion. Your review does make this one sound exciting for young people. I am going to give this one a pass at this time but I am sure it is a wonderful book for those who do like fantasy.

This descriptive review certainly makes this book sound like an imaginative adventure suitable for children to read, or to have read to them by an adult. The characters sound interesting and colourful. Although this Is a pirate type of story, I was also reminded of Peter Pan, despite the main characters disabilities. This adventure certainly seems to be as colourful, and full of lessons as well for children.

The bar is set high for fantasy with this novel I believe! Garrett sounds like a down to earth character I'd be able to connect to! The villain is as devious as one would want him to be! A book I'd definitely dive into.

What a great book! Let me have a read,I can't be satisfied by the review only.I'm not only impresed by Garrett,a boy with a bad leg, but also fascinated by such a kind of man who don't allow his disabilities to become inabilities. Thanks to the author for enlightening other people living with disabilities to take a chance on any available ability/ies they have.

This sounds like a really good book and I was just about to say it didn't seem like my style until I saw it mentioned that it's better-suited to pre-teens. I'll definitely recommend it to my younger brother and see what he thinks. I may also try it for myself, I just might like it. Thanks for the honest review!

Garrett having a bad leg or ulcer in the leg must be challenging to cope with the mockery from the friends. I hope Garrett's friends would be inspiring and bold enough to make a difference in society. This bad leg has led Garrett to develop an interest in reading, I hope the hobby of reading books would go a long way to divert his psychological problems.
