I downloaded the book to my kindle and immediately fell in love with the story. I stayed up all night reading it and I have even decided to purchase an physical copy of the book to add to my collection. The story is about Ellie and Neil, two people who fall in love via email in 1997. A seemingly harmless interaction at a bakery turns about to be a chance encounter for the two married people who are both unhappy within their marriages. The authors writing is very poetic and it is easy to find yourself captivated with the style of it. The author clearly knows how to develop characters, we get to experience a wide range of emotions emitting from them. Reading this story, you feel conflicted because you are aware that what is taking place is morally wrong, but then you realize sometimes it is best to put your own happiness first and to take a risk. You will sympathize for the unknowing spouses Jake and Fay and still cheer on Ellie and Neil. I admit at times, I felt like the story was predictable, but because of the authors approach, I was never bored. I recommend this book to anyone in need of a good romance novel that will leave you happy and sad at times! I give this book a 4 out of 4.
