I doubt I will ever climb any of those seven summits. I have not even climbed any of my country's mountains. But David's story seems to be one I'd want to get high with. We all have our downs; we will also have our ups. The key is to always look up.

It's surprising that this novel is classed as non-fiction. By your description, The Altitude Journals sounds like an exciting thriller or adventure. I don't think I would usually consider a book about mountain climbing, but you've definitely changed my mind. Thanks for the convincing review Letora!

This would be a great read for those who need encouragement. To see what David accomplished after all his struggle is empowering. Thank you for stopping by!

Not really a fan of such genre and topic, but your review made me want to read it. I also liked the fact that though there are a number of characters, the author manages to give them key roles in the story. Thanks for this enlightening review! :tiphat:

I agree the key is to always look up. I doubt I will ever climb mountains either. It was nice to read through David's experiences to live in the moment climbing mountains in my mind :) thank you for commenting and reading my review!

This sounds like a great read! I love that all of the characters have key roles. Too many extra characters can bog down the story. Great review!

It was the most interesting nonfiction I have read! Normally they are hard for me to read, but David J Mauro certainly knows how to write creative nonfiction :) Thank you for stopping by :)

I also enjoyed reading about the different cultures on the continents. I also learned many thinks about mountain climbing like you have to have a guide in some places. Antarctica just scares me!
