This is quite an interesting mystery tale. I like that the chapters are short and the pace is fast.

It should be interesting to see how it takes a near homicide to reveal the many relationship dynamics present at the precinct. Great review.

Geez, to see your partner/significant other beat up due to a gay hate crime must be so devastating. Hopefully, they catch who did it! Wonder what will happen with Derek who still have feelings toward Mara...It's great to know that the chapters are quick and short, making the story concise. Having well-developed characters is also very important and it not relationships between Mara, Casey, and Derek are well done. Glad you found this to be a page-turner with a good ending. Too bad that it was challenging to distinguish who was speaking at times. That would frustrate me. However, it's good to know that you enjoyed this read regardless. Thank you for sharing!

Crime and romance interwoven in one piece is definitely my idea of an entertaining read. Mara seems like a strong character too. Thanks for the beautiful review

I love mysteries, and this one sounds lick 9t has a other complex stories unfolding at the same time. Mysteries need to be page turners, and fast paced to keep reader interested and this one sounds like author did that. Not sure if I will try it, but congratulations on BOTD.

Novels that deal with homosexuality is new to me and I find this exciting to read. The book is relatable and timely and of course relevant. The love triangle involving heterosexual and homosexual relationship is novel in the mystery genre is i deed intriguing. Congrats!

Satisfying is one of the best compliments a mystery novel can receive in my opinion. I also love the added depth that the protagonist sexuality brings to the story. Sounds like a book fans of the mystery genre will love

I definitely love short chapters and I like that "Each chapter reveals a concise scene." The storyline is wonderful and nice to see the LGBT community represented more in fictional books.

I love a fast-paced mystery novel and this book sounds like a promising one. I like the danger that the author incites with the assault on the main character. While I don't typically like shorter chapters, I think that this will be a book that engages me to the end.

A mystery, page-turner and a 'whodunnit' with an interesting end is a must for me. This sounds like a great novel, despite the few flaws you found with determining the characters speaking. Thanks for the review!

Although this may appeal to some readers, it doesn't sound like a book for me. Thanks for the enlightening review!

I’m a sucker for good character development and a good ending. Sometimes cliffhangers are taken too far and can be extremely frustrating, I’m glad this book isn’t that way. Thanks for the review!

I think it would be an interesting read for me. I love mystery crime novels. I also think that while I identify as hetero, it would be interesting to read for the relationship as well!

Seemingly a pretty interesting mystery novel. A fast paced novel is something that I always look for and this one definitely suits me. Congratulations on being BOTD and the book goes right away to my TBT list
