Thanks for the perfectly worded response. Adult fiction does not require for warned sex scenes.Sinclairess wrote: ↑25 Jun 2019, 16:34Even though it made me giggle, I admit that it did spoil things a bit for me and I couldn't take it very seriously after. You're right about that. It did seem a bit childish, though a warning nonetheless. We consider this book as adult fiction, right? Now that I think about it, if adults are the targeted audience, I'm sure we grown folks can handle a bit of intercourse? Lol, if this was a YA or general audience book I could understand the need to warn about sex...Ferdinand_otieno wrote: ↑22 Jun 2019, 16:31 You giggled when you saw it? Weren't you put off by the school-like insinuation of spoiling the chapter for every reader?![]()

But they were major spoilers in the beginning of the chapter, or a specific direction the author tried to force the reader ro pay attention to.Lucas Kalinic wrote: ↑26 Jun 2019, 11:51 I never focused on the emboldened subtitles in the chapters that much. They never really meant anything other than stresses on major happenings in the novel.

They definitely felt like the author was trying to get you to a certain place too obviously.Ferdinand_otieno wrote: ↑26 Jun 2019, 13:19But they were major spoilers in the beginning of the chapter, or a specific direction the author tried to force the reader to pay attention to.Lucas Kalinic wrote: ↑26 Jun 2019, 11:51 I never focused on the emboldened subtitles in the chapters that much. It did. If the book is meant for adults then the author should trust her audience to be able to handle adult content.

This are my sentiments as well. I saw this as childish and somewhat disrespectful to readers and their age.

Exactly, Watpad. That's what it reminds me of. For me, I saw them as the unprofessional nudge in the direction the author wanted you to face in any chapter.labibliofile wrote: ↑29 Jun 2019, 03:07 It does seem to break the flow of reading and might even pull you out of the flow of the story. It is highly subjective, but it would definitely bother me. Honestly, to me it also seems a little unprofessional and almost reminds me of author's notes in Wattpad.
