Reading is a lot of things, its comfort, relaxing, allows you to use your imagination and transport you out of your body into unknown situations.... so exciting.

It offers release. Some turn to drugs, some turn to alcohol, I turn to books.

I love reading, mostly because it tickles my escapist tendencies. I love removing myself from my current reality and exploring ones, so different from my own. It's a pretty humbling experience, almost every time!

The mental travels is definitely one.

Of course widening my scope of knowledge and ultimately perspectives.

It improves my English.

It is just plain fun.

I love reading because it's a great escape from reality, you learn so much from it and it's a great conversation starter.

I love learning about the world through others' eyes--personalities, life experiences, food, locations, careers, history, etc. I also love the opportunity to develop language skills as I experiences so many different writing styles and words.

Many reasons. For one, it helps me gain more knowledge of others' intentions and behavior as I study characters in a fictional novel. For non-fiction, it informs me about fields I either knew nothing about or thought I had mastered but was actually way off. It is also very calming and takes me to a different universe when I need some time off for myself. It's amazing.

Reading helps me widen out my vocabulary.

By reading I can take my brain to the gym.

Reading a good book even helps me to learn new ways to solve problems.

And finally it can also be entertaining.

I love to read for two reasons: to learn something or to have an escape. I love that reading words on a page puts me in a whole different world for a while and it costs little to nothing to do so! I also love that it’s the perfect avenue to learn and grow as a person.

For the same reason I eat food. I find reading stimulating to the brain and cannot imagine life without books! Besides just being a fun escape, good books also heighten my appetite for life and 'wake me up' out of the mental stupor that can descend upon the best of us. I like provoking books. FIction, fantasy, romance, sci-fi, allegory, nonfiction, anything! As long as there is something more in it than meets the eye.

Reading is my escape route. When I'm reading, anything is possible. There's no world too far for me to see, no adventure to dangerous for me to dare. A world of possibilities is at my fingertips.

I like reading because it exposes me to a world of impossibilities. Many times, I have finished reading a book and I am like 'Wow! , how did the writer imagine and create such a plot and story', especially for non- fiction novels.

Reading allows me to leave the mundane and boring life I live day to day. I can be whoever I want to be and go wherever I want to go. The characters in my books become to real to me at times I feel like I'm visiting old friends when I go back and read chapters of my favorite books from high school. I also use reading as my own self-care. When I need to just sit for 30 minutes and be alone, why not do it reading?

I like reading because it's a form of escape from reality, at times life gets too real and I just need a break. With a good book, I get a low-cost vacation to wherever I want. It could be an island resort with a cocky bad boy or a fantasy planet with a charming prince. With books you get to relieve stress and not think too much about how bad real life can get at times. After reading a good book I end up with a feeling of relaxed contentment.
