Yeah it promotes and encourages reading particularly in children and teenagers. School children receive a book token which they can take to participating book stores and select a book (one of eight, again chosen specifically) absolutely free. It's a great concept. I remember getting these tokens in school. :D
What a great idea. We need more days like this to really get the kids back into reading. :D
Whaaaaaaaaat? Why did I not hear about this? Where's my darn kid? I'll have to remember to ask him about this tomorrow...
How perfectly goddamned delightful it all is, to be sure.

Well that's what happens in England. It might be different elsewhere....

Well, guys, I'm back. It's been far too long! Long story to do with finances and boyfriend problems.... but hopefully I can be back on more often now that I don't have quite so much of either problem anymore. I missed you all terribly. School's going great I'm out working on the school salon floor now, and I've been told by my instructors that I'm really good at doing hair and that they can tell I that I really enjoy it. I've made some friends at school, and am spending a lot more time hanging out and being somewhat sociable for a change. I left my boyfriend Jake about 3 weeks ago, I had a rough patch for the first couple of weeks following, but I'm now happier than I can ever remember being in the past 6 years of my life which were spent with him. I'm doing a lot more reading lately too thanks to the absence of said ex-boyfriend :D Wow, I feels so great to be able to call him my ex... anywhoo.... just wanted to let yall know I'm finally back and hoping to stay longer this time... Now I'm off to hunt down a sookie stackhouse thread, if one yet exists, and if not, there shall be one shortly :)

@Moogle/Ant
United Nations International Women's Day is celebrated every year on March 8 (that was yesterday unless my calendar has had a malfunction!) But no matter it is a good even to celebrate no matter when.
