The time before and during World War I is rich with possibility for various narratives, and this sounds like an enjoyable addition.

I like that the book explores the circumstances and consequences of war for what it truly is: a worthless fight with no victors, only victims. Thanks for your compelling review.

I love it when a book can make the mundane parts of daily life an important part of the story, and not just gloss over them. This sounds like a lovely historical novel.

Just by mere passing by the book looks like an uninteresting one, but then the review worked the magic...its like icing on a cake.

This book sounds like it has a very emotional and deep story and the historical context appears to be very detailed. Too bad the editorial errors ruined it a little bit. Great review!

I love historical fiction books. And I’m enthralled with the World Wars, especially. They are such a huge part of our history, no matter where we come from. This book sounds great and I’m definitely adding it to my list of books to read.

I enjoy historical novels, so I look forward to trying this sample out. Katy’s life sounds very intriguing.

A switch between Katy and Katie that wasn’t a change of characters is so odd. If the change was only in dialogue, I suppose Katy could almost be a nickname—being a letter short. Sort of like John and Jack are nicknames of each other for some reason. What a funny mistake to make.

I do not know much about this Third World War crises, so I think reading this book is going to help me get a better understanding and knowledge about it.
