It reminded me of when I first picked up Hemingway's The Old Man and the Sea years ago and closed the book after only a few pages because the words were giving me a headache. It is kinda irritating because I want to keep on reading but then I have to pause and check the words.

I couldn't sum it up better than that. I enjoyed learning new terms, but it just became overbearing and I gave up. I found it actually a little bit distracting to be honest.Charlyt wrote: ↑04 Apr 2019, 05:16 I had a hard time understanding the technical terms as well especially at the chapter where the Warhorse crew were attaching lines to the Seattle Express. Some of the terms I looked up in the dictionary, but there were so many of them I had to go with the context clues instead. Still, I thought those nautical terms gave the book a distinct personality and I enjoyed every part of it.
