What a great review on yet another book by Kater. This one sounds very interesting with historical and cultural facts about China, the Philippines, and Australia. Jacko, Jamie, Harry, and Lee go and investigate an opium smuggling operation in Tongling village near the Yangtze River. The adventure, danger, and suspense sound like it all work together for a fast-paced novel.

It sounds like an exciting read and not too long at 270 pages. Your concise and well-written review makes me want to take a look! :tiphat:

You have presented a great, thorough review of this historical novel. You make it sound quite interesting. However, I'm not usually into military, war type books. My brother would probably love it, being related to World War II. Thanks for the review.

The Warramunga War was a great read. This 3rd book is as great as the original so i might consider putting it on top of my list.

Great job with the review it covered the needed contents. And I am hooked.

It sounds like this author has a way with words. It's amazing when an author can write in such a way that depicts a vivid picture in someone elses mind!

I read the sample on amazon and the first few chapters started off a little slow, but I anticipate it gets pretty intense!

This book isnt really in my typical genre, but seems like a fantastic read for those who are Into historical action novels. Thanks for the review!

It's good that this novel is based on Chinese culture. From what I've read, this author has an intricate knack for writing about other cultures. Thanks for the review!

An action drama that does not sacrifice history in favor of the action is refreshing. I would benefit from learning the history of this post-war time and place. Thanks for the great review.
