Aleksander Voinov's Dark Soul Vol. 1
It was too dark, too sadistic, and I cringed a lot. So I gave it 2 stars only.

The Ghost Road by Pat Barker is the final installment in the Regeneration trilogy, dealing with the horrible physical and psychological impacts of war (WWI) on individuals.

Winner of the Man Booker prize in 1995, the novel reintroduces several familiar characters from the earlier novels (Regeneration, The Eye In the Door).

Still determined to assist others despite his own diminishing good health, psychologist Dr William Rivers persists in his determination to understand and provide effective treatments for 'shell shock' (today we would call it PTSD).

One of his long-term patients, the voraciously active bisexual, Billy Prior, is determined to return to the trench warfare of France, despite Rivers' recommendations, believing that it will be better for him than a safe job in England.

The language is gritty, frequently coarse and crude, but Barker has infused an unapologetic dose of realism and frankness into her prose that is apt and powerful. She has refused to dress up or sanitise anything here

This has been an engaging and rewarding trilogy, and while it might not be the very best of the multitude of novels covering aspects of WWI (Her Privates We by Frederic Manning is better), it was an original and fascinating insight into the issues of mental health associated with war service.

4 stars out of 5

I would give it 3/5. The book was ok, not that I hated it, but I can't figure out why there is so much of hype around it. There are better spirituality related books out there.

I agree with the abovementioned. I read the book in the original language and I couldn't feel the magic of it. At some point, I even started to think that I just don't believe the argumentation behind the words and deeds of the main character. This, without a doubt, spoils the whole experience of the book. :(

The last book I read was Les Miserables by Victor Hugo, the book absolutely deserves a 4/4. Though it is a highly descriptive book that some people may find hard to work through. Many times throughout the book there are breaks in the plot to describe the scenery, such as the sewers in France, these breaks can last for a couple paragraphs or close to 40 pages.

Heartaches - Bad Boy Vibes, by H.M. Irwing
I rate it 2 out of 4. Some parts were explicitly profane and distressing to read.

The last book I read was The Gifted School by Bruce Holsinger. I give 4/5 stars. It was a really great book--- a great commentary on the intense qualifications for students to even go to a 'public' school and the lengths parents will go to ensure their child's success. It was a little bit of a soap opera, though, at times---but the fact that that soap opera was revealed in a kind of academic way was very unique and clever. I liked it a lot. Oh, why not? 4.5 stars!

Just finished Takedown twenty a few days ago, and although it started off slowly it managed to pick up the pace later on. It belongs to the crime drama genre, with TV humor and a plot similar to 'one for the money' (the movie with Katherine Heigl) . Maybe it's because one was inspired by the other, haven't checked it out.

Oh really? I read the same book and did not have an issue with the erotic scenes because it is a romance novel. What did you expect though?

I read Quiet by Susan Cain recently. I loved it, 4 out of 4 stars for sure. It was about introverts and their quiet strength. I thought it had an interesting take as well as relatable (for me) points.

The last book I read was Voyager by Diana Gabaldon and I definitely give it 3/4 stars. So far all of the books in the Outlander Series have been absolutely amazing. It definitely would have been 4/4 if I had been able to read it faster but some parts got a little slow, not that that stopped me from enjoying the book at all.

The last book I read was a YA novel by Amanda Howells called The Summer of Skinny Dipping. It was pretty good but I'm only giving it a 2/4. I didn't like the ending and the novel strayed too far from its advertised genre. However, it was easy to follow and the main character was realistic.
