Yes, I found his resilience and determination in the face of overwhelming discrimination and other obstacles he faced to be very inspiring.

Tenacity and ambition are very admirable traits, both of which the author has. The fact that he was faced with racism and still aimed to be (and eventually become) a doctor is truly inspiring. Opportunities weren't as easy for him to find compared to his peers, but he was still able to accomplish so much.

I felt that the author had an innate sense of confidence and humility. He knew who he was, but he didn't feel the need to shout it from the rooftops. That is truly admirable, and it is something the world needs more of.

You can spend your time however you want, but you can spend it only once. :eusa-think:

Perfectly put, compared to his peers he faced more obstacles and opportunities were few. He still decided to commit himself to a career of service.

The author's inate sense of confidence and wellbeing was truly inspiring. During his entire journey, he never once doubted who he was or what his worth was. He never felt the need to showboat his intellect or shout it from the rooftops - as you've eloquently put it - it was a quite certainty and confidence in his abilities.

I admire that trait also more so because it got him through a really tough situation when he was about to commit suicide.

The author's courage and determination, despite facing many obstacles and discrimination, is definitely something that could inspire others. His positive attitude and perseverance could be applied to many different situations that others can relate to.
All the reading she had done had given her a view of life that they had never seen - Matilda, Roald Dahl
