His education was important to him and I think that was his drive to continue on and moving forward despite racial discrimination he faced. What I learn from this is no matter what the other students say about you don't give up on your education. Its way more Important than what the bullies say about you.

Yes, as there should be. Education is invaluable and I think the author would be able to understand that to some degree seeing as they practice literature.

Its good to focus on education as its a weapon to conquer stupidity ,though inhave an issue becouse i feel the book might make that average person to feel less of doing anything,or maybe an average person who tried to secure a scholarship but never succeeded might feel its only becouse of the grades,i feel the book is trying to pass a message that all those succesfull are those who had A’s.

I agree! I don't see anything wrong with it having such a strong presence. Education/being educated is becoming more important to the world in general. Since this is the case, why wouldn't it be such a big deal.

I don't know. Education is really a broad concept, although we tend to link education with academic achievements, which are two different things.

The book was for sure focused on education. I believe that the author wanted readers to see the importance of being educated. He worked hard to achieve goals and success and he had many obstacles to overcome in the process.

I think every child should read this book. It is high time that we have neglected education and tried to earn money. the author has highlighted that there is nothing more highly priced than education. education provides knowledge and that is what people should be gunning for. Be hungry for knowledge rather than money. Keep learning and seep things in is what the author wants this young and arrogant generation to know.

Frank saw education as a way out of his current situation. He appreciated his opportunities. There are thousands of people who would like to be doctors but don't have the natural ability to memorize and understand scientific terms. That may sound harsh but colleges make Biology 101 classes especially difficult for that reason or least that's what the head of the Biology department of the college I graduated from said. Frank had the mind but also the drive.
Exactly! Someone can have the mind but not the drive and give up too easily! Thanks for the comment and for stopping by.

I agree. He definitely stressed that getting a good education is what helped him overcome all of those obstacles. Thanks for the comment and for stopping by.

I personally believe education is a big deal and I base that on my own experiences! Thanks for the comment and for stopping by!

That is an interesting perspective, and some may see it that way. However, I believe the message was more that it takes focus and hard work to get where you want to be and to overcome any obstacles. Thanks for the comment and for stopping by!

I believe that he, himself, valued education greatly because of its aid in helping him get further in life and, thus, education was made into an important topic in the book because it impacted him personally.
