I still have problems with this question. Why did God make cancer and other diseases?B Creech wrote: ↑10 Aug 2019, 23:35I don't think God has left us alone and I believe He cares very much. I don't believe God made cancer and other diseases, man did by adding so much into our food that shouldn't be there; polluting our environment; using fertilizers with deadly additives; medications with harmful ingredients, etc. God gave us free will to choose our paths and part of that is, do we choose to take care of ourselves, or do we conform to the pressures of society and our friends and do harmful things to ourselves (ie: drugs, alcohol, fast food, etc) for which we pay the consequences. I have been as guilty as the next person in living an unhealthy lifestyle, so I can't blame God for any afflictions I suffer. Disease is not a punishment from God, it is a consequence of our actions. That is just my opinion. And I, myself don't understand why newborns and children have diseases, but our unhealthy lifestyles and environmental pollution effects the innocent and helpless too.Jsovermyer wrote: ↑11 Aug 2019, 08:48I still have problems with this question. You're so right. The Bible cannot be understood by the human mind.

Dear, these stories still work. God doesn't make mistakes. You can see Old Testament prophecies being fulfilled in our days. What does that tell you?Othervi wrote: ↑07 Aug 2019, 16:29 In the past, scriptural stories related to the Bible were very important in human life. They presented a worldview in which they showed human beings important things related to the Hereafter, the fall of man, the afterlife, the rewards and punishments, and so on.
But do these stories still work today? Or are they just read for hobby and enjoyment? Stories like the ones in I Will Make of Thee a Great Nation
In my opinion, they no longer have a role in human life, because our history has changed a lot. Now these stories are important for literal aspects. Also they're noticeable because they are beautiful and probably have some tips. But in our view of the world they have little effect.
See, if you try to understand the Bible by the human carnal mind, you won't benefit from the life in the Word.

I believe what Einstein forgot to add at the end is: "...in our hearts". God doesn't force his way into us, we must be willing to let Him in. When it comes to talking about the Bible, this holly book is incredibly transcendental but not an easy read for sure, some people believe the correct way to read it is by starting with the New Testament rather than the Old Testament(which is harder). Books like I Will Make of Thee a Great Nation make the Old Testament easier to understand and get the hidden lessons it has in its ancestral writing.God did not create evil. Just as darkness is the absence of light, evil is the absence of God.
- Albert Einstein
I have also read Imitacion de Cristo by Thomas de Kempis, I highly recommend it for those who are willing to follow through Christ's examples.

I agree with you, the way one reads a Bible has a huge impact on how they view it and what they make of the stories told inside.
