This book goes to my "want to read" list. Human being is very complicated mechanism, that can be extremely cruel. And the best examples of that goes way back to the history. I do admire stories told by people, who actually lived it. It may not be as entertaining read as the popular ones, but it's something that is real, and I see value of that.

This really sounds serious, but relevant I think to understanding what is happening today. Thank you for your review!

This one is too above my head to fully engage in. I was surprised to read from your review that he is a Holocaust survivor. I think the attempt to uncover the “why” bad things happen is a noble aim, but this one is just too technical
for me.

Great review! Anything having to do with the Holocaust or it’s survivors is a must read for me. This is very interesting to see his philosophy about different spaces. I can’t wait to read this.

This sounds like an intriguing book; one that explores a common question many have tried to answer--why do people try to destroy one another? I like that the author goes even further by detailing different aspects of spaces. I think this would be a beneficial read for any human being. Thanks for the engaging review!

I tend to steer clear of scholarly books. They feel like text books to me, and I consider them a chore to read. Thanks for your review.

I've reread the review, and decided this book is not for me; it does indeed sound too serious, somber, and dry. I'm also just plain not interested in the subject matter; if it was up to me, I'd be a hermit and avoid [in the flesh] people entirely.

It sounds like Mr. Katz comes from a background that allows him a unique viewpoint to his chosen subject, and I'd be happy to delve into this book and learn more about these ideas. The title alone intrigues me, and I'm sure that there's far more than just that to keep me interested.
I'm putting this one on my to read shelf, thank you for the review!

I don't like to read books about the holocaust. I also don't read very much philosophy. This book specifically sounds too serious and dry.

It seems like Mr. Katz tackles a rather tough issue in this book, and does so well. I'm sure his experience as a Holocaust survivor adds a special flavor to the book. Thank you for the enlightening review!

An attempt by the author to explain why people commit cruel acts and violence against humanity is a book I would like to read. I grapple with this concept daily given that I live near an area where people are killed almost everyday by either guns or cars, once in awhile even by knife. Thanks for the informative review!

Thanks for the great review! I was a little hesitant about the book as I have no experience in the subject, but it sounds like it is fairly easy to comprehend. I will consider giving it a try.
