The sample had me chuckling out loud! I liked the authors writing style and loved the quirkiness I felt from the main trio. This book seems like fun read.

I've read other books by Tara Basi and really enjoyed them. He (she?) is a very talented author. Bobby' s "knowledge" about everything is hilarious, and Terry just innocently takes everything he says as gospel (poor kid). If only he knew. I very much enjoyed reading your review! You have an engaging writing style!

Masterminders by Tara Basi seems like a wonderful book. I like comedy. It makes the book a little more interesting. Comedy is tough. To make people laugh is not an easy job.

Friends Bobby and Terry are going to save the world, yet the tale is mostly comical. It just may be comedy which will save the world anyway! One of the boys' father is terminally ill while the other is in a custody battle against his son's mother who has three jobs. Their own personal issues seem overwhelming yet they soldier on. I would like to see the character development of the two main figures. Great review.

This sounds like a cute book and I'm looking forward to reading it. Satire and humor are a perfect mixture. I noticed the chapters are all social issues. That's so smart.

I am always open to a comedic book. The cover drew me in immediately. Overall, though it covers some deep topics, this book sounds like a fun read. Congrats on BOTD!

I don't think the fact that the boys pretended to be religious to attract some girls, especially when one was a novice nun, seemed funny. But it was great that there were serious issues in the plot besides the humor. Nice review.

I have to say that this was truly interesting read for me. This is the first time that I have a read a book such as this one, and it's the first time that I have heard of the author(s). Compared to what I normally read, this was a nice change of pace, it's filled with childhood innocence that many forget. Yet it also covers actual problems that many families face in the everyday world, such as with parents being separated, global warming, but it also brings up topics such as 'clicks' among kids and bullies are found no matter how small of a location. I also enjoy how that even though it did have some serious topics sprinkled throughout, it also had a lot of humor to lighten up the read, I don't actually laugh out loud often while reading, but this book has managed to make that happen. It also brought back memories of how when I was a kid I would have big ideas, such as Bobby, Terry, and Doug in this story, to help major world problems and try to come up with some wild plans in order to get the problems solved. So i personally enjoyed the touch of it being told from a child's perspective and it really shows that childhood innocence and reminds some of us of what is lost along the way. I would give this book a 4 out of 4 rating and recommend giving it a try.

Dear KK,
I had already downloaded this book based on the sample of it I read when I came to check out your review. But your review gave such a great feel for a book which obviously impressed you by using the guise of humor to reveal some very deep issues that I picked up on your feelings of enthusiasm.
I have never heard of Basi before but it sounds like this is not her first "outing" as an author and I can't think of a better way to spend my weekend than discovering her talents. What I also wish to know is, with your own substantial abilities to write, where do I (we) go to download/purchase YOUR stories?

Thank you for your time and effort to bring this new (at least new to me) author to my attention.

Sincerely, Laura-Lee (who Was definitely Here) :tiphat:

The book sounds like it has quite a mix of real-life difficult situations (poverty, sickness, and death) and humorous tactics from the two boys, Terry and Bobby. It seems that the two boys will often get into trouble with the nuns, bullies, and others from their shenanigans.

I like how these two schoolboys, Terry and Bobby, take a laid back attitude to try and solve the "worlds' problems," in the process, the result is a book full of humor. I look forward to reading it. Nice review.

I like the idea of a book that presents serious everyday issues that people deal with or can relate to while also be able to add some humor to the story to give breaks form the tension. That sounds to me something a lot of people will be able to relate to and appreciate.
