It would definitely be David Baldacci. I have a soft spot for thriller novels authors.

Margaret Atwood no doubt. I'd like to sit down with her in a little cafe and just ask her about the ending of A Handmaid's Tale because it's torturing me. What happened to Offred? Did she find her daughter? Did she end up working in the brothel like Moira? What about Nick? Did he get in trouble for sneaking her out?
So many questions and I need answers. :shock2:

Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman together. I would never turn down the opportunity to meet Gaiman, but I’m still devastated that Terry has already crossed the black sands.

Maybe not a beer, but I'd have a whiskey with Wilbur Smith. Preferably at his house.

I think I'd love to enjoy a lager with Leigh Bardugo just to perceive what she was thinking when she composed Kaz in light of the fact that stunning... he's a remarkable character. What's more, not simply him ...

I have been a fan of Diana Gabaldon,Outlander, for quite awhile. It would be a delight to talk with her about the main characters and lovers Jamie Fraser and Claire Randall. I love when a series shows how constant characters mature, grow, and age throughout life's struggles, challenges, and opportunities. We would sit before a large roaring fire sipping the best Scotch. "To freedom and whiskey".

Sarah J. Maas. I just have a few questions, ya know? Also, before 2015, Harper Lee - my most probing question - and the rest of the world was "Why stop there, truly?" The length between her first and second books got me asking some questions - which leads me to George R.R. Martin. Him, I'm not drinking beer with. More like real Russian vodka.

Kurt Vonnegut would have been a great person to have a beer with. What an impressive mind, and his war experiences would be interesting to discuss. Also Dr Seuss!

A beer sounds just fine to me! Are we talking alive or dead authors? :eusa-think:
If we can pick anyone whether they are breathing or not, I would absolutely pick Kurt Vonnegut. That man was a genius! Not only are his books amazing and captivating, my favorite being Slaughterhouse-Five, but he was simply brilliant in general. I would love to pick his brain and get even a sliver of advice from him.

If the requirement is they should in fact be living and breathing, I would say Stephen King. I have loved him since I was a child, greedily eating up anything written by him. I have a similar writing process and have taken so much inspiration from him it would be an absolute dream to get to meet him and chat.
"We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be." - Kurt Vonnegut

I so agree with you! Vonnegut is the kind of man where I don't think I could ever run out of questions for him!

Totally, and he was such a great speaker too. I thought of him because I'm about to read Bluebeard . Been ages since I've read any of his.

I have 2 Authors I would love to have a beer with, the First being James Patterson. I am a great follower of his Michael Bennett series.. Have spent many hours reading these and love all of them. The 2nd would have to be Don Pendelton who wrote the executioner series being a Military vet started reading these while in the military and followed the series until the spin off came about.

That would be Carl Sagan for me. I've always wanted to be able to take him in a time machine to explore the future and the past, just to see how this could enhance his views. But a time with him at a table would be definitely a learning and humbling experience.
