A mystery thriller about a retired CIA agent with retrograde amnesia, this novel seems like it’s packed full of actions and surprises. Thanks for the review!

"Mystery, suspense, medical thrillers, espionage, and romance" sounds like a great blend of genres. It must be so confusing to lose your memory. Tim can't know who to trust.

Jeffrey D. Mechling has you sitting on the edge of your seat and wanting to turn the page for more. Sounds like a great plot. Thanks for your thorough review.

The review is very intriguing that makes me want to dig in right away to know how the protagonist will be able to go back to his old self. There seemed to be a lot of twists here that made the novel an interesting book to read despite the usual amnesia plot. Congrats!

This sounds like it would have everything. Suspense, romance, amnesia. Too bad about the shallow female character.

The review for today's book of the day is in agreement with what I suspected after reading the first five chapters of the book. The language is R-rated for certain and the adult scenes are rather blunt and to the point. Tim's character is developed well and I found myself wanting to warn him before he fell into certain situations. Mary Ann's character seems like she is a plant...maybe an undercover CIA person to keep track of Tim. I found a small grammatical error in the first pages...."the women and that fact bother Pam to no end". Bother should be bothered but that was the only error I saw in the first few chapters. Thank you for this preview of The Adults in the Room.

The protagonist's zeal to hunt for his lost memories make "The Adults in the Room" by Jeffrey D. Mechling uniquely appealing. I think this is going to be an interesting read.

I appreciate your candor with this review! While I bet I’d find this under-developed female bartender character lacking, I bet the “on the edge of my seat” aspect of this book would go a long way in making up for it!

I think it is a great book, even though amnesia seems to be a bit monotonous storyline but still you have mentioned the element of surprise. Congrats to the book of the day.

This book sounds like it is well-written with unexpected twists and surprises that will keep a reader glued to the pages, but the profanity is a turn-off for me. Thanks for the great review!

Amnesia combined with the journey for memory recovery and the yearn to love again is something to look forward when reading this book. However, the mention of R rated words and explicit sex scenes are giving me second thoughts about reading this book. Thank you for the review, Cecilia. I love how you write your reviews.

I usually don't mind profanity, or even sex scenes if they're delivered tastefully, but I do hate that many male authors fall into stereotyping female characters while giving full and complex development to the male ones.
Either way, I love thrillers so I might give this one a chance.
Thank you for your honest review!

A story with an essence of mystery, suspense, medical thrillers, espionage, and romance in the book "The Adults in the Room" by Jeffrey D. Mechling, which follows Tim Hall, a former CIA officer, who loses his wife after a car accident and is diagnosed with amnesia. The story appears to be quite captivating to read.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.
