Hearts Set Free by Jess Lederman left an indelible mark on me as a reader. It tells of the story of a combination of characters. The story revolves around a young man named Luke Noongwook who goes on a search for his father in the company of his mother, Yura. The other aspect of the story involves the search for the truth by a TV series executive producer named Tim Faber and his producer, Joan Reeds. A popular scientist named Georges Lamaitre had released a paper that contradicted Albert Einstein's findings. However, it had been observed that the English version of the paper had a very important omission, and the duo sought to know why. These two parties: Luke and Yura, Tim and Joan both embark on a journey that would change the rest of their lives forever.
The story goes back and forth through time. The two parties are actually connected in a way. Luke and Yura in the course of their search meet with David Gold. David Gold eventually gets married to Yura. Both later have a son named Nathan, who is also Luke's stepbrother. Nathan fathered Daniel Gold, whom Tim and Joan get to meet in the course of their search. Through Daniel, the duo gets to meet Luke, Daniels's uncle and a much older man at the time of the meeting. The story unveils in the course of these events, the battle waged against the church situated in Las Vegas and against the souls who in one way or the other seek to know God better. Tragedy surfaces in the midst of these conflicts.
The story is a very complex one and can be fully grasped only when the reader has gone through the book, page by page. But what could be easily deciphered from the story is the unfailing love of God for man. This love remains the same irrespective of what the individual has passed through or what he or she believes. The connected story of Luke, Yura, David, Tim, Joan, and Daniel reflect this value.
The story was well-thought-out and beautifully blended. Though it was set at different times going back and forth, it was not difficult to connect the characters alongside the events. The book was spellbinding and kept me curious about what was to happen next. It was an amazing write-up, and I found myself literally blown away by the story, and by the concept, Jess Lederman perfectly portrayed to the reader.
I loved everything about the book and disliked absolutely nothing about it. The book was filled with suspense and maintained that tempo until the very end. It was also professionally edited and I found only one error.
I am rating the book four out of four stars . Some stories have this uncommon blend of suspense, action, humor, love, and tragedy. This story possessed all these and much more.
I am recommending the book to young people, and to Christians generally. It's a book that will cause you to laugh at some points and weep at some others. Above all, it's a beautiful story.

You an I, tonight!
You may forget the warmth he gave,
I will forget the light.
When you have done, pray tell me
That I my thoughts may dim;
Haste! lest while you're lagging.
I may remember him!
