This book is going to be one of my top go to entries, thanks to your review and the sample that I read. Very rarely it happens that we read the firat few pages and we get hooked. I absolutely loved what I saw and would love to read this one.

Thank you for your review. I love the fact this book revolves around an older woman and covers generation boundaries with her young best friends. It's a nice refreshing touch that you don't see much.

Thank you for your review. I was able to read the sample available on Amazon and really got hooked. I would enjoy reading Backcomb and Tattoo. I agree with @Brandon Donaghy, I was unaware of the Bechdel test for literature and movie standards of portraying female characters. Thank you for including it into your review. I also had to Google it. The characters all sound like strong female characters and the novel sounds like a very interesting and fun read. :D Thank you for your recommendation.

I lost my mom three years ago, so Rachael's grief is certainly palpable. Her need for loving company is also understandable. I wonder how Nicole and Jesi will enter the picture. And what of Jake? Mary Opal is intriguing indeed.

It would be so wonderful to belong to a girls' club like the one in the novel, an older mentor and a few of my peers, all crazy but loving! And of course, us girls need to have our secrets. I would love to read this book. Great review.

I just began reading this book today!! Ironically, it's the anniversary of losing my uncle in a motorcycle accident nine years ago. Your review confirms reading Backcomb and Tattoo will be cathartic and healing for me. Awesome review!!! You are definitely taking my 'like' of the book..to 'love'

Thanks for the excellent review, it sounds like you really enjoyed the book. I like the theme of the book with the friendship of these women. However, I know I would have a problem with the lesbian romantic scenes, especially if they are explicit. I like the fact the book touches on other tough subjects; and also the fact there is humor in the story. I like a feel-good friendship story, I just don't know if I am willing to push through the parts that would be offensive to me to relax and enjoy the rest of the book! I have to think about that for a while before I decide. Again, thanks for the review!

Sounds like a lovely novel centered around women and friendships. Should appeal to many looking for a cozy, feel-good read.

Thanks for the review, but I don't care for stories involving friendships - male or female - or lesbian romantic moments, so I'll pass on this one.

I tend to shy away from books that contain LGBTQ themes, but this book sounds like it deals with some other serious issues that I am interested in: assisted suicide, domestic abuse, friendship, and keeping secrets. I have added this book to my reading list. Thank you for the great review!

This book was well written and super enjoyable to read. The main character Aunt Opal was living with a terminal disease but wasn't ready to tell anyone. All she wanted was to spend her final days with some friends with excellent personalities. It really was such an amazing read and I am glad I found it.

Absolutely wonderful. I enjoyed reading. Company of Mary Opal is really needed to Rachael, and Rachael having a friend ship with an older woman than her is very interesting.
My heartly wishes for this book and its author to move to the top of its field :)

This sounds like it maybe a really good book if pitched to an older audience. It doesn't entice me particularly but I'm sure if it was shown to a group of older women that they would be all over it.

I think it would be an issue if this book didn't pass the Bechdel test. It sounds like a fun examination of female friendship.
