While reading the sample, I kept wondering what this author’s credentials are. I thought...is this person a sociologist and studying culture? I guess I was trying to figure out the “why” of the book. If it fosters better communication like you said here, and we have more stability between parents and children, then I now understand the point of the book. Thanks for further insight to this one.

This sounds like a well written book, although not one for me. It seems like the author focuses on the positive aspects of the different family dynamics, which should make it a good read for someone regardless of the family he or she grew up in. Thanks so much for your review.

Good review. I like how the book goes through all kinds of family structures. In today’s time it’s really hard to find that original view of a family. We are such a mix of different families that I can’t wait to see what it has to say.

This appears to be an interesting read. I like the fact that the author acknowledges the different factors that could form a particular type of family and that she recognized and drew attention to the positive elements that would make any of them successful. I wonder why God was only briefly mentioned though, after all, he's the originator of the family. Nonetheless, thanks for the review.

Thanks for the review, but this book is not for me; even though the quotes sound interesting, I'm not interested in reading "about the various structures of the family unit."

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting book/study of family structures and parenting situations. While this is not a particular favorite subject of mine, it looks to be worth a second look. Well done.

This sounds like a informational read, as well as an inspiring one. I also like that it is very mostly (very) well edited. Thanks for the comprehensive review!

I appreciate the focus on the importance of family that is stressed in this book. But I found the sample to be boring and lacking in research. It truly felt like just a brief summary of different family types.

Sounds a bit like the kind of textbook you'd have to read to pass a Sociology exam, or some such. Might pass on reading this one, but I certainly enjoyed your review!

Family is the building block of the society so I am glad this book focuses primarily on the different forms of family structures and styles of parenting. I look forward to reading the book. Thanks for the excellent review.

This is a lovely book that highlights how the needs of children can be fulfilled by strong families, including extended family. I loved the quote about the grandparents. Thanks so much for this recommendation.

Mildred has talked very important and most crucial topic in our modern society. Family should be regarded with honour. This is what translates to the population in the world. If you bring up family without proper standards, that means that you add a predicament into the population. Everyone belongs to a family whether poor or rich.

She has given roles of each party in a family. That is protection, disciplining, love etc for the parents. On the other hand, children are to obey and rely on their parents. In today's world, this has deviated and that's why we see so much rot in the society. This a very vital read. Congrats on being BOTD.
