What an amazing review! That being said I personally don’t think I would benefit from reading this book. Family structure is not something that I want to learn about or feel like I need to learn about but because of your review it will help people find this book that most need it so congrats on that!

Although I was raised with the opinion of this author I am still glad there is a book out there like this. People need to know even if you have the perfect nuclear family there will still be problems. This is a great book and a great reminder the kids just want to be loved. Thanks for the great review!

In today's social background, the concept of family is convoluted and can take many different forms. This book seems to outline and emphasize this point very well.

This sounds like a well-thought-out book about changing family dynamics. A "family" can mean so much more than just parents and siblings, and I'm glad the author addressed this. The book seems like a great guide for social workers and others working on raising children. Thanks for a great review!

Reading is my most preferred recreational activity. I read so I can relax and take my mind away from everyday problems. Unfortunately, according to how this book is described in review, it's totally not my idea of entertainment and therefore I will have to pass it.

Thank you for your review. It sounds like a good read for children learning about different family structures and may help children befriend others outside their family type. Thank you for the recommendation.

This book sounds amazing. Family culture is changing so quickly and there are so many diverse situations that can still produce healthy young adults. It sounds like this book includes the different dynamics found in family situations and I look forward to reading more. As a single mom of 2 teenagers, I understand the difficulties faced in a divorce situation and this book might even become a reference for others as they go through these trials. The most important part of any family dynamic is remembering the children have more than just basic needs we must fulfill. This book reinforces we shape the children into the adults they will become.

I wish this book, Different Family Structures, had been available when I was raising my kids and grandkids. I now have great-grandkids and hopefully, I can pull the knowledge and good sense from this book and apply it to this next generation. This author seems very matter-of-fact and uses common sense. She also understands that the "typical" family doesn't necessarily exist anymore. There are now many more forms of family that exist now that didn't when I was a kid. It is good to read someone who understands this and reveals knowledge that can help all families, whatever the form.

The circumstances that can cause single parenting is a crucial issue that must be understood by all. Families tend to overlook the consequences of foster parent families. I see this book as an enlightenment to save society from the disaster. A good review.

I agree that the book has a very clear, easy to read style. I suppose a book emphasizing positivity in any kind of family relationship has long been due.
Also, it is never too much to show, demonstrate, defend the importance of a good start for children.
The review points out reasons I did not know that I had for reading the book.
Thank you!

Definitely doesn't sound like the kind of book I would use or enjoy, but I'm glad you liked it. Thank you for your review, and congratulations on Book of the Day!

A commendable writing style really is key in effectively portraying certain points! I also believe that structured positivity within any family unit (traditional or otherwise) can hugely impact the longterm success and outcome of any child. Thank you for sharing your lovely review of such an important topic!

A book about different family structures is a great thing to have, especially to educate little children. I'm sure this book is highly detailed and can be of great use at its time.
