Thanks for the great review! I am blessed to have had a life filled with extended family closeness. It is just as important today. Children can learn so much from different members of a family. Regardless of what structure a family takes, the family is of the utmost importance! I enjoyed your review!

Families have evolved, but the need for communication remains a primary concern for everyone, especially the children. This book seems to be a good resource for all types of families, biological or otherwise.

I am always happy when a book comes along that could be featured in a high school or college sociology class. I also like that many different family structures are discussed and the positive benefits of each. I like that the author included families such as foster families because many times theses type of family units get overlooked. I think of this book as more of a textbook than a traditional novel.

Thanks for your review. This book sounds like it is truly informative and adequately communicates a lot of information in a successful form without being overwhelming or bogged down. I don't think that this book will be one I pick up, but I'm sure others will enjoy reading it.

Sounds like a great book detailing how to be there for your children, whether biological or not. Children need positive communication and love, no matter how the family is structured. I see a lot of broken families and hope this will help people in their struggles. Congrats on BOTD!

There is no such thing as a typical family these days. I'm glad the author took time to spotlight what some of the variations of family might be. I wonder, though, of it is woven together seamlessly or if it is more like a laundry list broken down by chapter. I also wonder if it is based on the perceptions and experiences of the author and how much research, if any, was entailed in the writing process

A very relevant topic that sounds like the author did a good job of providing a comprehensive guide for foster parents.
I like that this book is based on the simple fact of uniqueness and importance of each family member!
