In "Code Name Lily", Julien Ayotte weaves a tale that will make readers admire the Belgian nurse who helped a lot of soldiers during WWII.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. I found the storyline to be extremely fascinating, and although repetition is also a pet peeve of mine, I still think I would enjoy this book as much as you did.

This book definitely got me intrigued. As a lover of historical fiction and war stories, occupied Belgium and the workings of the rebellion that aided forces fighting the Nazi is something I want to read. The brave people like Lily, the author's father and other previously unknown details come alive in the narration that transports you back to the era. I really enjoyed reading your review. Thank you.

History has several stories that can be brought to light. WWII is just one of the departments from our past. I am glad that the author has chosen to develop the subject of pilots fallen on the territory of Belgium while it was occupied by Germany. Personally, this premise is new to me, and I am interested in how Lily, a member of the Belgian resistance, manages or fails to rescue over 250 airman-soldiers. It sounds like an intriguing story with a variety of elements that can be assimilated into my own knowledge. Great review! Thank you!

Definitley my cup of tea and right up my alley! This historical fiction book is based on the actual event that had happened during the WWII, the unsung heroes and what intrigued me the most is I will know something that I thought didn't exist.

Code Name Lily by Julien Ayotte is a #HistoricalFiction set during #WWII. It revolves around Lily, the code name of a Belgian nurse who outsmarted the Nazis.

A compelling true story about "the real-life heroes of the Belgian resistance that risked their freedom and their lives to shuttle allied soldiers out of occupied Belgium along the Comet Line" sounds a must-read for fans of historical fiction novels. I am glad you found it informative even though the timeline and repetition issues bothered you. Unfortunately, I don't read the genre, so I will pass on this one. Thank you for the detailed review!

There are so many WWII stories we've not heard. Books like this take us to the very core of the events of the war.

This is a very exciting read, filled with knowledge of Europe and the emotive life of a battered soldier. It helps readers to see things from a different perspective. It also helps us to understand the importance of family history. Good job!

 I really enjoyed this book. Usually I am not into history or war for that matter. However this book was more of a documentary and reflection of characters in the story , whose lives seem so disconnected but in fact is very intertwined with history. This story is one of old emotions tied together with change and new mindsets. A family who became so involved in their own lives are now suddenly jolted together through their father's memoirs. I only got to read the sample but from what I read I would get this book for my personal library.
