The initial premise for this story sounds quite interesting, but I agree with you that the mockery of our current president makes this book less relevant for subsequent generations. Thank you for your review!

The story of Andre is a growing trend in the books in this genre. The Android developing human feelings are not so new but the way the story takes a turn to talk about current political state and human nature is quite captivating. Congrats to the book of the day.

Thanks for the great review! I am not much of a sci-fi fan, but when I saw this book I thought it might be interesting. However, I was immediately turned off by the references to the President when I read the sample. I agree with what you say about the author may lose part of what may have been a reading audience because of the content about the President. I, for one, am tired of all the negativism we are exposed to every day. I believe making fun of The President of The United States, no matter who it is, is disrespectful. For that reason, why would I deliberately choose a book that is doing that very thing! I appreciate your honest review, which gave me the knowledge to decide on reading or not reading the book! :eusa-think:

Artificial intelligence is a fascinating concept that is directly relevant to our modern world. It has been written about, many times in fiction but this book certainly sounds as if it mirrors the present world and particularly lightens some beliefs and things that some people take very seriously. I am also certain that the current president of the USA will not be insulted by this book as I have it on very good authority that he does not read books at all. Thank you for an enjoyable review about an unusual book.

After reading the review, I decided to read a sample of he book. However, I don't feel like this book is one for me. It sounds wonderful and I know many people will love it, it is just not my cup of tea. I love science fiction but AI is not my interest area. Looks to be a great choice for book of the day though.

A story about André an android designed to do menial work but then he becomes self-aware. from then he develops abilities that turns him in an endless adventures.A book with science-fiction and another part social/political content. It sounds like a good option.

The title is super fitting for what the book is about! Although I have to say that I am not too thrilled with how the author approached their inclusion of mocking the POTUS. Even if one is not fond of the current POTUS, it is not okay to teach others that disrespecting someone that you do not like is okay.

I do, however, appreciate the plot of the book and the way that Andre's character develops.

Thanks for the great review! :tiphat:
It sounds like a good book. I'm interested in the robot and how he evolves, having more human emotions and I guess you could say becoming more human like. Though I'm always turned off by politics and not sure how much I'll enjoy about him working in the white House, for the FBI, etc.

Thanks for the review, I like how André is described as being extremely intelligent, but still naive.

"What makes us human" is an appropriate question in today's world. A self aware robot seems like a very interesting character and how the story flows is very interesting. But I don't think I'll read this because of the strong political views in the book. Thank you for a great review.

I like schience fiction and this book seems pretty interesting and exciting. A robot who as a result of an incident became more humane and started thinking about what makes a human human and behaving in an appropriate way while we humans often forget about these traits. It will be interesting to read abour André’s adventures in the "human world". Congratulations on becoming BOTD!
