I don’t have any desire to have a ferret as a pet but the book is a cute idea for kids.

This is a very detailed review. The book is adequate for little kids and even children probably less than 10 years. The language equates their level of knowledge. However, the graphics would have been improved to more realistic pictures. Congrats on being BOTD.

I did find 2 errors (missing commas between independent clauses) in the short sample I had read on Amazon. The formatting was wierd too. It looked like the photos were supposed to be between paragraphs, but they were thrown in at a random spot!

I wouldn't be rushing out to buy this for any of the small people I know based on your review. Aside from the deficiencies of the book itself, I'm not keen on ferrets. :D

Since you enjoyed the photographs, I wonder if they appear larger than they look in the Amazon sample. Thanks for an interesting review.

My daughter had a ferret some time ago. He was a dumpster diver and always stealing her things and hiding them from her. Now that she has her own child, I'm sure she would enjoy reading this book to him and being able to tell him of her own ferret's antics.

I've known a couple of people who've owned ferrets, and I loved all the little furry scampers, so this sounds like a really fun read, and I love the idea of the pictures! Thanks so much for the review!

I like the artwork, it reminds me of japanese cartoons similar to studio ghibli!

I'd rather ferrets live in nature where they naturally belong. That's the message I'd communicate to kids. Ferrets can cause significant damage to the natural landscape if they are released or escape to become semi-feral. We ruined dogs and cats, maybe that should be enough...

I know plenty of kids that would love to have a ferret as a pet, and plenty of parents that would hate it. I would probably enjoy the story being told from both the child's perspective and the ferret's of it was hashed put just a little more. Maybe by using different fonts.

I like the photographs to go along with illustrations. Not all kids are familiar with ferrets, so this will show them what they look like. I only read the free sample, but agree with others who have stated the writing and content need a little oomph to add interest and personality.

I hope the author takes your review into account because it seems like the execution could've been better. The photos, indeed, make it different from other children's books and might be very appealing for some kids.
I think this book will get some parents into trouble when their kids start asking for a pet ferret! :P
Great review, thanks!

This must be a very charming book for children! I once indexed a non-fiction book about ferrets and the care and training of them.

Great review! It really helped me when considering this book. Sometimes you need a fast read for the kids, and sometimes you need one with more details.
