The Dark Web Murders , by Brian O’Hare, is not any mystery book, it is a story that guides the reader through a series of murders in which the victims seem to have nothing in common: the gruesome and unusual cause of death is what links them. The list of suspects is endless and the team of detectives, leaded by Chief Inspector Jim Sheehan, will have to decipher the pattern that ties all the murders together. The investigators, without knowing it, will get immersed in a challenging experience that is about to change their lives forever: they will not only have to dig in the dark web to find clues, but they will discover unimaginable secrets about their suspects.

Although this is the fourth book in a series called The Inspector Sheehan Mysteries, this book is self-explanatory, which is why it is necessary to clarify that reading the previous books is not mandatory in order to understand this one.

The Dark Web Murders is beautifully written, the reader gets absorbed by the story in the minute he/she starts reading and the feeling of excitement that the first pages of the book evokes never fades. While reading this novel, you become a detective; there is always this urge to know the secrets the suspects are hiding and the need to tie everything together in order to discover who the killer is.

Although this book is marvelous, the topics it endorses are truly strong, they are not easy to digest and they are to be considered delicate. There are some really explicit scenes that are not fit for a sensitive audience and it is definitely not a book designed for children. However, if you enjoy reading and are looking for excitement, this is the perfect option.

This book is full with thrill, mystery and darkness. It has absolutely earned 4 out of 4 stars and I strongly recommend it. It has it all: the characters are complex, the plot is well-developed and it has an ending you definitely do not expect. There is not one negative thing I can say about this book and this is, by far, one of the best murder novels I have ever read. If you are looking for something to read, you can rest assured that this book will keep you at the edge of the chair: the story is so engaging and there is not a single moment in which you will want to stop reading.
