Great review! This poor man has been through hell and back. To have a photographic memory makes it even worse. I’m intrigued to see how eje ended up coping with everything. I can’t wait to read this.

The author deserves credit for his honesty and for writing a powerful story. That said, I think I'll give this one a miss.

Thanks for outlining all advantages in your great review, but unfortunately I don't like reading non-fiction. Like at all. So you will have to excuse me, but I will pass this one.

I find it so difficult to read books that involve child abuse. I know we shouldn’t hide from it because it’s a reality, but it isn’t easy reading page after page of it. Then, in most cases, the abused go on to live a very traumatic life wrought with bad situations. That is what it sounds like happened here. I hope by the end of his memoir that this author found the peace that only God can offer. It’s a miracle after all he went through that he even believes in God. This one sounds heart wrenching!
Everything happens for a reason...

The memoir leaves the reader with many questions about the kind of wounds that careless parents inflict on their children. Although his parents were religious, their parenting techniques did not reflect the teachings they got from attending church every other Sunday. It is very sad to know that maybe, just maybe, there are parents who are concerned about creating the perfect outward picture of their family, yet their children go through hell behind the closed doors of their homes. After reading Kempfer’s story, I was moved to tears praying to God to give me the wisdom and ability to raise my children in a loving manner that I may never crash their souls in the name of fitting in the society. If Dennis, the author’s father, had been more careful with his parenting, his son would have never gone through a hell of a life trying to find validation from the world.
Unfortunately, nobody knows what happens behind closed doors and seemingly happy families can be miserable. Parents sometimes don't know the long-lasting and harrowing effects that their actions can have on their kids' development and psyche.
Hopefully, books like this one will help us all to become more aware of these realities.
Great review, thanks!

A very much heart touching memoir "Don't Mind Me, I'm Just Having a Bad Life" by Lewis Kempfer, which shows that for some people, life can be excruciatingly unfair as in case of Lewis. Loneliness and depression defined his normal, until a major turnaround in his rather old age. The story appears emotionally intense.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

The writer demonstrated a brave and unbiased attitude in the writing of this document. he had a really rough and terrible childhood, the likes of which no child should endure. These childhood hurts and pains can last a lifetime, yet the writer seemed to have been able to relate his childhood experience in a most unbiased manner.
This article is a great read. The information contained can serve as a great source of support and encouragement for persons who may have had similar childhood experiences. In spite of of all the the hurtful experiences the writer would have gone through, and was relating, somehow he was able to make the article fun to read, and also added some elements of humor into it.
The article is also filled with lots lively imagery, it paints pictures in your mind while you read, it's like you are seeing a movie of what is transpiring; the like of which has a captivating effect on the reader.
This is an excellent article. I recommend for anyone who is looking for a good non-fictional, genuine, unbiased article to read.

This seems to be a very emotional memoir recounting the author's traumatic childhood and struggles with depression and addiction. Normally, I wouldn't put it down but I am in no mood to pick something so sad, may be later though. Congratulations to the author and thanks for sharing an honest and a thoroughly justifiable review.
