The review is really well written and the series looks really great, however although the reviewer states that the book can be read as a standalone I prefer to read series from the beginning. So, hopefully soon I will be able to read even this book.

This book sounds perfectly capable of glueing a person's eyes to its pages. The twists in the plot and the elements of past lives sound too fascinating for me to pass up, although I'm a staunch unbeliever in reincarnation. I've read snippets from the first book in the series and have decided to dedicate time to finish it before picking this up; even though it's standalone, there's nothing really better than following the story in its proper sequence. This is another story about the past haunting the present. It is intriguing how the lovers get to relive their lives during the Renaissance, and they together were lovers at present. You have to stretch your imagination enough to accommodate the time changes, but in its entirety, this novel is really compelling. Thanks to the interesting review.

This book sounds so interesting! Michelangelo is one of my all-time favorite painters and I love reading about him, even in a fictional sense. Add romance and mystery to it and I'm hooked. I'm glad this story can be read as a stand-alone, but I still plan to read the series in order.
