Since I am a dedicated Christian, my mode of meditation is prayer. It works very well for me. I don't want to disparage the book or others who do meditation as described in the book. I'm simply not interested in delving any deeper into this topic, so I won't be reading this one. Great review, and congrats to the author for being chosen BOTD.

It is helpful reading your comments after you tried some of the beginning exercises in the book. Thank you for a great review!

Teaching the mind to control the body is something that interests me. You mention that the author used meditation to improve his memory and recover from illness faster, which is something that would be useful to me. Thank you for choosing to review this book.

It is an interesting concept regarding meditation. I have undergone Cognitive Brain Training and found that to be extremely painful and exhausting after each session. After reading your review I think I will read more of the book and see if it would be a better outlet for me.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting book about spirituality and meditation. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

Meditation, as a means to boost both mental and overall well being, has always appealed to me. I like that the author has kept this guide book simple and easy to follow. The insightful review is much appreciated.

I (too) am a Christian, so I can already tell that I will disagree on some points in this book, particularly the order of spirituality and the Christian faith. However, I do acknowledge that spirituality is definitely tied to faith. For instance, faith is meant to be lived out everyday, just as the review says the author presents spirituality and meditation. After all, the Bible calls believers to meditate on Him everyday. And the idea of clearing the mind of distractions can be very beneficial if done with the intent that believers can better focus on God and His will. So while I will be reading this book with a different point of view, I think that it could still have a lot of good advice and principles. Thank you for the review!

I would, without a doubt, skip the crying meditations. Since I have panic attacks, I cry entirely enough, thank you. I don't wish to induce it on myself. I do like how the author presents his ideas with "maybe" or "perhaps" rather than shoving his theories into the reader's face as absolutely correct as many "spiritual writers" do. I don't read spirituality-based books as a rule, but your review has encouraged me to give this one a shot. Well done review! Thanks!

In review the book seems like very interesting one for certain people, but unfortunately I am not among them. It is nothing personal, simply not my type of thing I guess and because of it I am afraid I will have to skip this book. Thanks for great review and congratulations with BOTD!

Meditation is a very valid approach to spirituality. The use of sound in the process is not new but few teach the method. Your review is thoughtful and well written. Thank you.

I've never really been able to understand all these mixtures and distinctions of spirituality, religion, chakras and all whatnot. It makes everything sound so complicated. What I know is that anyone who wants to draw close to God should read, meditate on and apply the principles found in his word, the Bible. Simple and short. Whoever does this is both a spiritual and religious person. Thanks for the review though, but I won't be reading this book.

I’m not really a fan of new age in general, but I do like some of the authors points about illness being an invitation to gain more spiritual insights. I’ll check out the book.

How could illness and mortality be an invitation to experience spirituality; I guess this is a thought-provoking book to many religious beliefs. Thanks for the informative review
