From a sampling, this seems like an interesting historical fiction surrounding a young woman, a Chicago police officer and the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. It seems like it might be worth a second look. Well done.

A novel that brings in history into the mix, most often, I deem a worthy read because you are able to learn as you read. Reading a fictional storyline about the difficulties people faced in the South during the American Civil War, and the struggles and troubling times of the Chicago Fire in 1871 nearly broke my heart. It helped me to remember these very real times and appreciate my life.
You're right. For me, reading historical fiction is one of the most enjoyable ways to learn. As long as it's accurate, of course.
I'm in the opposite position and I find the idea of reincarnation fascinating.
It seems like an amazing book!
Thank you for your compelling review.

It was amazing when Amanda Parker saved a Chicago policeman, Mark Callahan. They seemed attracted to each other afterward. Though I do not believe in reincarnation, the travels back in time to the Civil War and the Great Chicago fire would make this story seem realistic and help readers learn about these events. I wonder what will happen for Amanda to allow herself to love Mark.

The storyline seems intriguing. The character of Amanda sounds interesting. As it is a historical fiction, we get to know the conditions that existed during the American Civil War. Time travel always fascinates me. Congrats on BOTD!

At first I wasn’t interested in this. Like you I was turned off with the reincarnation aspect. But after reading your review, I am now excited to read this and it in my “to read” list. Thanks for your review!

I am not a fan of romance novels, but this one sounds like it has some interesting historical components. Great review!

I usually am not one who reads romance novels, but the plot description and the setting of the novel makes it a unique blend of time travel and action.

Amanda is wary of letting anyone too close to her, which is quite reasonable considering her past experiences. But it seems fate had other plans...

The American Civil War and the tough times faced by the people have a lesson to teach, and the novel does it's part in illustrating the same.
It is interesting for the lovers of romance.

I once heard somewhere that love is entrusting someone with the power to destroy your life, and trusting that she or he won't use it. A wonderful story and a wonderful review. Thank you.

A historical fiction with the theme of reincarnation is something I rarely come across. Based on the review, the storyline does seem well put together. I suppose the book would be an amazing read for the fans of the genre. Thank you for the well-written review. Your review has certainly inspired my interest in the book.

I like how the author crafted the story of a brokenhearted young woman and the man who tries to convince her of the deep love they have for each other. Great review!

Good review! I love a good romance story especially one with time travel. I have read a couple that were truly amazing and hope this is another of those. I’m interested to see if Mark can convince Amanda of his love.

Great review, and I like the author input. I do have a question: is it reincarnation or is it time travel? I feel like either scenario would create two vastly different stories.

A take of romance that stretches to past lives. People who believe in concept of past life regression would enjoy the story.
