I can't say that I would be able to go fully vegan, but this book seems to have many great recipes! I would definitely love to try the vegan stir-fry. Thanks for the amazing review!

I think this book does sound interesting even although I am still an omnivore! It will be interesting to read because I have seen in many articles that it is extremely difficult to get the correct protein and fat sources from a plant based diet only. In South Africa, most of the population eats a lot of meat and I would find it difficult to abandon meat, even although I do not really like the killing of animals. I look forward to reading this and seeing the illustrations which also sound beautiful. Thank you for a well balanced and informative review.

A few years ago, my boyfriend was vegan. I had to find interesting ways to cook for him and had to check a lot of labels. He often got the question, "why?" Now we're married and he's no longer vegan. Still, the impact it has had on our lives was significant. It seems the same can be said for this author.

I am not a vegan but I try to be mindful of what I put in my body. This sounds like a good book for those who are considering going vegan. Congrats on the book of the day. Great review.

This book contains a rich wealth of information, and it could as well be the key to many people's good health. Thanks a lot for the well-written review.

I could never be vegan, but I love plant-based recipes! I'm always looking for something new and flavorful to whip together. Often, the vegetarian options in the meal subscription boxes I order have more flavor and variety than the carnivore/omnivore options. The recipes you highlighted sound good! Great review!
There is no frigate like a book
To take us lands away,
Nor any coursers like a page
Of prancing poetry.
This traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of toll;
How frugal is the chariot
That bears a human soul!

The review mentions why the author decided to go vegan, then the structure of the book and then the reasons why the book appealed to her. Every claim is well argued and the one suggestion to improve the overall impact of the book, keeping the nice pictures of the dishes where the recipes are, is sensible.
A great review, thank you! :tiphat:

Using his personal experiences rather than just saying "Go vegan" makes it persuasive. We don't realize what we eat until we reach that point where our bodies start rejecting the fats and additives. Informative review!

I am not a vegan, but I admire vegetarians for the strictness of their diet. I admire them partly because of the self-discipline they must demonstrate in order to sustain that lifestyle. I am an advocate of healthy eating as well, because I believe that if one does not eat their food as medicine, they'll eat their medicine as food. Therefore, the need for more people, particularly the health-conscious, to copy the vegan diet cannot be overemphasized for its numerous benefits. I have added this book to my shelf. Thanks for an informed review.

At one time I wanted to become a vegetarian after being encouraged by my student. I lamentably failed. I hope reading such a book can inspire me to become one. The review is quite inspiring.

Thanks, Allyn. I am not particularly fond of books that promote vegetarian or vegan diets. It is good that the author managed to improve his health that way. He also refrains from passing his ideas as medical advise, which is good. Thank you for the detailed review.

Already purchased the book if for nothing more than getting healthier recipes. What is more powerful about the author's is that he is an expert but does not come off as this is a 'get rich book'. He is sharing how he lost weight and living a healthier lifestyle. Your review is spot on and thanks!
