My kiddos will love this book as they are vegans and yes, they have been ribbed often about eating only lettuce. The one caveat I would (and do) warn about any diet is that if deficiencies occur, they must be remedied, and that may mean a temporary diet change. Let food be thy medicine and thy medicine food! (Which does not include oreos, I'm afraid.) Thanks for a fantastic review!

Thanks for your review, I am a meat eater but I incorporate a lot of fruits and vegetables in my diet. This book sounds fascinating and I would love to read it.

With so many of us looking for healthier meal options, this book will appeal to many. Some of the recipes you mentioned seem quite unusual (and delicious)! :)

I am so glad to hear this book is so well-rounded! I thought it was only a cook book at first. I hope people learn a lot by reading it! Great review!

Thanks for the recommendation, the book sounds very interesting. I've always wanted to try veggies but I usually run out of recipes. This sounds like a great book to turn to.

This book sounds so interesting. I’ve wanted to go vegan for a while now, but my husband is a cook and a total carnivore so I’ll have to show him this! I loved the sample and your review really sold me. Thanks for the wonderful recommendation!

Official Review: We Don't Just Eat Lettuce by Allyn Raifstanger gives the readers an authentic knowledge of food. The message of eating vegetarian food spread through the book is a good thought for readers at the onset of new year! The author's purpose of relating to us the importance of plant-based diet has well been expressed in the review! Also, the review has a clear ending!

We Don't Just Eat Lettuce! by Allyn Raifstanger is a recipe book containing lots of healthy food options. I am a food lover, and love to cook. If the food is healthy then this will be even better.

Being a vegetarian myself, I can immediately relate to the catchy title. This is a wonderful new way to both attract and educate people about this diet at the same time. Congrats on the BOTD! Great review.

I think this book addresses some major misconceptions about vegetarians. Am not one so I won't be reading this but it seems like an interesting book. Congratulations on BOTD. Thanks for your review.

This is an informative book on the health benefits of eating a vegetarian diet including cutting on unnecessary weight. I also like that the author discusses how his health problems led him to discover these benefits. Nice review.
