 I actually went vegan for 2 months during the summer this year. Immediately after hearing the benefits I was hooked and at the time determined to make it a lifestyle. However, due to a lack of good recipes and the cost of being a vegan. I did convert back to my unhealthy ways..the fast food, sweets, sodas, etc. .
Immediately after going vegan I lost 16 pounds within the first month! I was syked (excited) so I kept going. During the second month I developed a serious sweet tooth..which was not convenient because I hardly knew any good vegan dessert recipes. .I began getting discouraged. By the end of the second month of being a new vegan that was it I was back to my Dairy Queen and McDonald's apple pies.
As expected, I gained my weight back and of course would be willing to give it another go with the whole vegan thing. With that being said, I would love to read the rest of the book. My thoughts about the sample book? I wish there was a dessert recipe incorporated into the sample. Overall, it's great! Veganism is something that's not really talked about, however sometimes all it takes is a book like this to make a difference. Nice review.

“We Don’t Just Eat Lettuce!: Vegan Recipes for Carnivores, offers good evidence that leaving behind the SAD diet can improve your life and your health in surprising ways—and it doesn’t mean nibbling greens for the rest of your life.”

Sounds interesting. I'm curious to know what the author has to say about this topic.

It's so interesting that the book offers good evidence that leaving behind the SAD diet can improve our lives and our health in surprising ways. I'm not a pure vegetarian, but I've been of the idea that it's a healthy practice. Reading this book may help me in making better decisions as far as healthy diet is concerned. Thanks for this wonderful review.

While I don't believe the vegan lifestyle is for me, I do know people who have mostly switched so that they only have meat maybe once a week and no longer consume dairy, due to health reasons, that I believe may enjoy this book. I'm a strong believer that people should be able to choose what is best for them, be that for personal/religious/health/etc reasons when it comes to their diet. I also believe that people need to eat more fruits and vegetables, and that at least Americans consume too many processed foods... but I still don't believe a complete vegan diet would be the way to go for me. But I'm glad the author wrote this cookbook/guide to help people that wish to join or already have embraced that life. Congrats.

Every now and then, a detox based on plant-food is exactly what I need to reset myself. This book could be inspirational with its recipes. Great review! Thanks!

I'm interested in changing my eating habits, but I'm rather confused about what's going to help me lead a healthier life and still have lots of energy. Based on the author's experience, I'm willing to give this book a try and maybe add some vegan recipes to my family's weekly menu. Thanks for a great review!

I personally know a couple of vegans and i must admit that the topic of protein consumption is usually a challenge for them. I actually have one friend that stopped being a vegan because he was not getting enough protein and it was sadly affecting his health. This book will be an asset as it will be highly educational and i can refer it to my friends when am done reading it. Thanks so much for the extremely informative review.

Having a connective tissue disorder (which means I need to eat eggs and meat etc for the extra protein) and IBS as part of that (meaning I cannot digest a lot of vegetables, or any beans, or soya) means I won’t be able to eat vegan or vegetarian, sadly. I’m also bordering on underweight so this book is of no use to me. I do like the idea of eating ethically, though.

This is really an eye-opening book for those who have keen interest in replacing animal based diets with plant based diets for a healthier living. I'm somewhere in the middle, but I'd like to see what the rest of this book entails. Nice review.

I love the book even before reading it, all thanks to your review. People should understand the fact that a vegan diet isn't just vegetables and how healthy a vegan diet could be. And you did a great job reviewing this book. Thank you!

I'm both as much a plant-eater as I am a meat-eater. I believe in healthy feeding and know that both classes of food are essential in the growth and development of a person. One just has to strike a balance. Thanks for the review.

Seems like a wonderful book to have for trying out different recipes that are good alternatives for an animal-based diet. It's good the author doesn't force his lifestyle opinions rather just puts it out for anyone to make use of if they find it pleasing. Thank you for the detailed review.

Not giving up on meat as long as I can, but always have veges too because in here it's drilled into us and also love it. And I really want to know more about the vegan lifestyle and also want to grab the recipes. Thank you for a great review.

I have always wanted to know the difference between vegetarians and vegans. At least now I have an idea. Your review has made the book quite appealing. Great review.
But the path I’ve chosen has always been the right one, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. :)
