Thanks for the review, but I really don't like autobiographies or memoirs, nor am I in the mood for a feel-good story, so I will pass on reading this.

A book written as essays which follows the different times of the authors life is rather interesting and different, and that makes it worth the read. But considering the fact that I know next to nothing about the Italian American culture, I'd probably not read it. The review does however bring light to it so thank you.

This book of essays about the authors life seems like reading an old diary. I love doing that. The author seemed to have had good experiences through out his life growing up. The review was great and compelling to read. Thank you.

It sounds like a good collection of essays. I love that family is a prominent theme in the book. Charles Sacchetti seems like a person who has his life full of fun and adventures. Thanks for a wonderful review and congratulations BOTD.

Scott wrote: 27 Nov 2019, 12:55 Great review!

Incidentally, an earlier edition of this book was reviewed by other reviewers who liked it and gave it a good rating, but who also suggested it could be improved with another round of editing to get it to have that highest quality polished feel. The author/publisher then edited it based on the feedback from our team and re-submitted it for review, earning this full 4/4 rating. I think this is really cool for a few reasons. For one, our own community has had a small indirect hand in helping craft this excellent top-rated book, which is pretty cool. Also, I think we should appreciate the author for highly valuing and acting on the feedback from our Review Team. :)
[This is great. I am also motivated by the action of the author to review the book based on the recommendations of the OBC review team.

I always enjoy reading your reviews, and this was no different. This is definitely one book I wish to read. It made me feel like I was sitting there on a hot, summer Sunday, inhaling the lingering aroma of Italian sausage and gravy, listening to the men yell and swear at each other in Italian between rounds of pinochle. Thanks for a good review that made me interested in giving this book a try!

Faith, family, and community are good themes, especially for an Italian memoir. Sounds like the book holds up on all fronts. Glad the editing was quality. Thank you!

This collection seems to include both heartwarming and humorous stories. Growing up in an Italian American family in the 1950s must have been quite interesting. The book has a nostalgic vibe and delivers many valuable life lessons. Thanks for a great review!

Thanks for the super review of a worthwhile read! I thoroughly enjoyed the preview, and plan to put it on my TBR shelf. I loved the one-liners at the end of the chapters, like: "...the love of family trumps everything." and "One can never know the full effects of a mother's act of love." These were great summaries of the respective chapters, as well as wonderful reminders of what life is all about! It's also great to know that authors do pay attention to our reviews, as per Scott's comment. Just yesterday I saw on an Amazon book in the catalog "4 stars on onlinebookclub" which made me proud to be a member!

A cool collection of 27 essays in the book "It's All Good: Times and Events I'd Never Want to Change" by Charles Sacchetti. The author's growing up in an Italian-American family during the fifties is shown in the starting essay. The nice thing is that stories are infused with humor, which appears to be entertaining.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

gali wrote: 08 Jan 2020, 06:21 A memoir composed of the author's personal anecdotes on his Italian family sounds charming. It is nice that each chapter tells another story from Sacchetti's life. Weaving themes of family devotion, faith, and community through the collection enriched the tale. The great editing is another plus. I don't read biographies, but I am glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for the review!
