It baffles me how everyone around is able to see through the motives of people like Tony, but their partner. I will never understand it. I think I will enjoy reading the rest of the story.

The topic sounds quite intriguing from your review. However, I could not connect with the characters, probably because I have not read the previous books. Thanks for the awesome review, though!

I’m not interested in action-packed crime thrillers where men take advantage of women, so I think I’ll pass on reading this novel. Your review is very thorough and well-written though.

Isn't it cool that Max Christian's partner Nick Testa sounds like the short for Nicola Malatesta the co-author? Anyway, I didn't think I'd like this book from the title, but the review has given me a 360 spin. I'm intensely keen on checking it out. My main interest is in Sophie and how she reacts to the exposed knowledge of her "lover's" total deceit. I'd also like to see the process upon which she finally realizes that self-validation is more paramount than her need for affirmation from younger, manipulative men. Thanks for the scintillating review.

A fictional book with an impressive plot sounds interesting. I like that the dialogues were relatable. That it has little or no errors makes it more fascinating.

You have to love when crime thrillers include the oldie-but-goodie connection between (former) Hollywood and the mob--in this case, without Hollywood even knowing it's going on. I also like the additional plot points going on for Max like his goddaughter working as his assistant and his wife looking for her own passion. This book sounds like it could stand alone pretty well, but I will still like to start from the beginning of the series. Thank you for the helpful review.

I wont lie it does sound interesting. And of course we have to wonder if Sophie came to her sense and listened to her sons about Antone using her. The big question is did she get her revenge? Not my usual pick, so I havent decided yet If i will try it. Congratulations on BOTD.
