This review was a joy to read! It's unfortunate that the characters don't seem to connect; relationships are often my favorite part about a book. Thank you for the wonderful review!

Thank you for those kind words. It is a shame but hey, sometimes you can't win them all.

I think if there was a vote on most honest review, you'd take the top prize. I always find it so refreshing when I see the reviewer's personality come through and you do that with fireworks, while at the same time still doing the more objective aspects of book reviewing. Like counting swear words.

I can't help but be slightly curious about your editors' scores. It seems what they dislike most about my reviews is ... me. And the fact that I never seem to keep it under 1000 words. But I hope you won't stop being you and tell us all that we need to know to pick a book, no matter how many words it takes you.

You've done a wonderful job. Thank you.

Sincerely, Laura-Lee
And they sang a new song saying,
"You are worthy to take the book,
and to open its to seals,
for You were slain and have redeemed us to God,
by your blood, out of every tribe and tongue and people and Nation." Rev. 5:9

There are a lot of typos, I can assure you, though not in this one, and I've learnt to cut down on a lot of fluff. Thank you for your kind words though.

Thanks for that very balanced review. I'll probably give this one a miss, as I tend to like books which are strong on characterization.

Disgruntled women and family discord... sounds like plenty of complicated emotions are potentially there for the taking! Really appreciate you sharing your honest insight and impressions of this one.

I had some trouble liking Cynthia and Dan so I’ll probably pass on this book. Thanks for the helpful review!

It's too bad about the unlikable characters, but it really speaks to how amazing the mystery itself was that you still came away with such a positive overall view of the novel. Thanks for your honest review!

Yeah. I'll be the first to admit that I'm bad at mysteries in general, but this one kept me turning the page to find out the perpetrators!

I've never been good at guessing mysteries. The red herrings get me every time, so I know I wouldn't see the end of this one coming. Even with the obvious errors, it sounds like it's one to read. Thanks for telling us about it.

I'm not really good with inadequately developed characters. An annoying book is something else. I think I'm going to pass this one. Thanks for the review.
We're all philosophers. When there's a tough choice to be made, when faced with the facts of birth, love or death or simply when thinking about what we want to do with our lives.
