Family is God's provision to meet our innate need to love and be loved, thus, where one divorces himself or herself, just like Tom, it becomes difficult to really keep surviving emotionally and psychologically. I feel this not merely a book, but also a printed or documented life lessons. Therefore, I commend this review.

I like the plot of this story and I am always interested in stories about family dynamics. I also can easily imagine the setting of rural Southern Mississippi with the Spanish moss and swampy marsh lands. I also think that many of the struggles that this family is dealing with are relatable to many families regardless of where they live. I think that older Americans don't want to give up their independence because it feels as though they are giving up a piece of themselves.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting story about an old man who had attempted to distance himself from his family. However, after reuniting with his grandson, the old man has decided to slowly, but reluctantly reestablish connections with other members of his family. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

The book sounds interesting though the plot seems to be too slow for my taste. But I agree that the most important thing is how the person feel and what he thinks not the circumstances that he may come across. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

How beautiful to describe a book as "rich with life". Definitely one I must check out, about family and lost connections.

This slow-paced drama is family driven and emotionally satisfying. The symbol of the river ties the parts of the story together. Congratulations to the author for being chosen as BOTD. Thanks to the reviewer for your moving and honest review.

This sounds like a complex, psychological book. I’m curious about Tom and the way he effects his family members.

Uniqueness and diversity is what frequently describes the nature of families. Looking around today's society, there are so many families which are struggling to search 'what the river wants' and searching for personal identity. The review which reflects the lines in the book is insightful.

You may have so many worries. Then you decide to tell someone to get an opinion. It turns out your problem is a small, trivious matter to him/her he/she loughs you silly. Thats life. Good book. Good review.

I agree that families are unique in their way. However, I do not believe that family is everything due to the experiences that I have had with my blood. I do believe that friends can become family; blood is just a stereotypical term used to describe it. Great job to the author for the uniqueness and personality that was used in the characters! :)
