Official Review: Power, Prayer and Spiritual Warfare
Power, Prayer, and Spiritual Warfare by Julia Dee Motycka teaches how to harness the spiritual power of God within us. Have you ever wondered if the things you pray really make a difference? Maybe you want to achieve miracles like the people in the Bible. Either way, understanding how prayer works is integral to your walk with God. This book will show you just how God has designed our world, and how we as believers can now manifest “heaven on earth”. This book will teach you how to engage in “horizontal” prayer, protect yourself and your loved ones, and ultimately show why God needs your prayers to bring about His will.
I really enjoyed reading this concise little book. The author explains her points simply and effectively with plenty of scripture, personal revelation, and first-hand experience to confirm her statements. If you ever had a question about prayer, it’s likely she’s had it too. I received several answers to questions I had about prayer while reading. What I liked most was how logical the answers were. I wasn’t left with a feeling of frustration that some things just “are”. This book provides interesting diagrams and details that helped me visualize how things actually work in the spirit world. With this knowledge, I now feel like I have a better understanding and power through prayer than ever before.
Spiritual warfare is not my favorite activity. In the past, “horizontal” prayer (as the author refers to it) left me feeling tired and drained of energy. A day later, my life would be terrible, full of strife, conflict, or irritating circumstances beyond my control. The author explains that this is common because Satan will attack you if you engage in prayer in this way. However, there are ways around his attacks and things you and others can do to prevent Satan’s retaliation. Having understood this better, I have recently engaged in spiritual warfare myself and have had days of peace following. I credit this book for teaching me how to do that.
Overall, this book is exceptionally edited. There were only a few errors here and there which can be easily fixed. Nothing hampered my reading or understanding. I really liked the illustrations included in the book because I’m a visual learner. However, the text itself is also very informative and should satisfy anyone who requires scriptural proofs. Additionally, the author provides a chapter on how the biblical description of God satisfies quantum physics. This chapter should especially interest more scientific individuals.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. Personally, I can’t think of a question about prayer the author failed to answer, or to answer satisfactorily. The chapters are short and the language is easy to read. Bullet points summarize the main ideas in each chapter, and each chapter is informative and interesting. I have benefited from the knowledge in this book and you will too. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about prayer. If you’re not a believer or not interested in learning how to pray more effectively, then this book probably isn’t for you. However, if you want to gain even greater insight into our world, God, and our spiritual power, this is an excellent book to get you started on that journey.
