I'm rating this book 4 out of 4 stars because it has a really interesting storyline and I loved everything about the story

I just submitted my review of this book. It was so-so. I will not be reading the author's other books. I rated it a 2 out of 4. There were a lot of inconsistencies, typos, timing errors in the storyline, the characters were superficial and flat.

I've just started reading Opaque and i'm liking it. Am not usually a fun of short stories but this one intrigues me.
The character development of Adam a 30 year old who's never been on a first date is interesting and inspiring.

I read the first few pages and it seems like I won't be finishing it. I read the blurb and the comments on the forums and it was like a checklist for every YA fantasy/science fiction novel:
-the 16 year old protagonists (I don't know about the rest of you, but at 16 I was barely trusted with the keys to my house, let alone the fate of the world!)
-the love triangle
-kids with amazing abilities (not necessarily the superpowers, but mostly the professional training in several different martial arts Adam has).
and my biggest pet peeve:
-characters that seem to come out of a model catalogue, with sculpted physiques and perfect figures.

I haven't read this yet but a brief scroll shows lots of people loving it. Might have to be my next read/review. Not my normal read but worth a try. I will be back!

I'm not done reading it yet. It is well-written but so far I've knocked a star off for the all-too-frequent references to Carly's bum, for the fact that pretty much every character is Hollywood pretty, and for the use of the word "bipolar" as a slur.
"She sighs at his bipolar actions."
It is incredibly insulting to use a person's health conditions in this fashion. "He's so autistic." "She's so bipolar." To do so displays a great deal of insensitivity and a lack of education about neurological and psychological differences.
I have bipolar disorder. The way I behave tends not to vary greatly. When people like the author use "bipolar," what they mean is "mercurial" or "changeable, blowing hot and cold, that sort of thing. A person can behave that way and not have bipolar disorder, and many people with bipolar disorder do not behave that way.
Here is what bipolar disorder is for me. It is a condition that may someday kill me. I fight every day against acting on the suicidal thoughts that are my constant companion and have been for my entire life. To have my fight reduced to an offhand adjective in a young adult novel is a huge insult. I intend to say as much in my review, and I certainly hope that the author will rethink using health conditions as adjectives in the future.

I’ve read a few pages but not the full book since I was reading a book I am reviewing at the moment. But since I just finished my book I will drowning myself in this one. Can’t wait to see what happens.

The reviews for this book are positively glowing and it seems to even draw in readers that generally do not go for this genre, which proves to me that this author is very talented.

I loved the book, and I gave it 4 out of 4 stars. I loved the complexity in the characters. Adam and Carly were both just really interesting for me.

I noticed the Hollywood pretty and the mentioning of Carly's assets, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way! I hadn't noticed the use of 'bipolar,' though, but I think your reply shows how harmful the careless use of it as an insult or a descriptor of erratic can be to those affected and the stigma around mental health.

I did not like the book. The present tense style of writing bothered me. The mentally dark aspects I thought were glorified or passed over too lightly. The characters were not developed. The supernatural powers that some of the later introduced characters were imaginitive. I don't recommend it, especially for its intended young adult audience.

Great book. It was a genuine page-turner and the story was really addictive. It kept using twists and turns to prevent the story from getting boring and I feel that t was really worth it.

I haven't read the book yet but from the comment section, I believe it's plot thrives on the social aspects of relationships. I believe it's character development i's as impeccable as other readers have described it.
I'll add it to my bookshelf.
